Seven years later
Lauren POV
"Catherine, my coffee!"
A skinny, brown haired girl wearing a black pencil skirt and a pink blouse, my secretary entered in my office. She was holding a coffee cup and few files.
"Ma'am here." She handed me over my coffee. I averted my gaze from my laptop and look at her.
"You're ten minutes late." I said looking straight into her eyes.
She hesitated, "Uh sorry it won't happen again."
I rolled my eyes, "Here we go with the same dull line." I shook my head in disbelief and set my gaze back at my laptop.
"Did you bring Mr Riley's files?" I asked.
"Yes." I put forward my arm and felt a heavy weight on my hand. She handed me two files.
"Woah! Looks like we have bigger thing to deal with."
"Uh Ma'am."
"Yes and for the hundredth time don't call me ma'am. Why do I have to tell each and every one individually?"
"Sorry and you have an invitation for a wedding."
"Whose wedding?" I furrowed my brows. As far as I remember Kaycee and Alex were married and they were blessed with a baby girl too, whose godmother was basically me.
"Hayden Clavane and Ayesha Lockhart." I spilled my coffee from my mouth.
"Where's my phone?!" I screamed. I couldn't believe my ears Ayesha and Hayden were getting married.
After moving in the university, the only people I was in contact with was Hayden and Kaycee. Actually I didn't plan to be in touch with him, he saw me at the cafe I used to work.
He threatened me if I didn't call him every weekend he would cancel my scholarship.
He once showed up at the cafe with Ayesha but they didn't seemed like they were dating, I just met him few days ago he never mentioned anything about the marriage.
He was so dead.
Catherine noticed my panic attack, she quickly took my phone from the desk and handed me over.
I called Hayden, after the second ring he picked it up.
"You are so dead!" I almost shouted.
"Hello to you too beautiful." I could imagine him smirking.
"Why you never mentioned you're getting married to Ayesha?!"
"Aggressive lawyer. Calm down. Everything happened so soon I forgot to tell you." He chuckled.
"Wow Hayden really? You forgot! Anyway I'm so happy for you!" I grinned.
"Thank you Lauren. You will attend the wedding right?"
"Of course!"
"Good. Well then I'll see you there. I gotta go I have a meeting."
"Alright bye."
I smiled and put my phone aside, I noticed Catherine was grinning at me. I raised my brows.
"What?"
"You have a very beautiful smile, which is quite rare to see."
I was caught off guard by her compliment. "Oh. Okay." I sat on my chair and opened the files. New case to work on.
