Lauren's POV

Sometimes what you want, what you wish to do nothing happens the exact way you want it to be. But life is an unexpected journey , you never know what's waiting for you ahead.

There I was , sitting and criticizing myself for making stupid decisions , but look-I just got another opportunity to avail. This very morning , mom entered my room with an envelope and sat by my side. I stared at her in confusion , "Mom , are you okay?"

"Lauren , your dad and I always wished the best for you. We always wanted you to be a very successful person , I'm sorry your dad and I couldn't give you the life you wanted-"

"No mom. I'm happy with my life." Somewhere , I knew I was lying but it was okay to make her feel better about it.

"Lauren I know you're not. Stop lying. Your dad and I had some savings, we thought if we gave you this money for college , we would starve to death. But we realize its better to die than holding your dreams. Take this, go back to Connecticut, study and live your dreams." I stared at her for few seconds and comprehended in my mind-what she just told me.

"What about you guys?"

She held my hand , and squeezed it gently.

"Don't worry about us. We'll be fine." She kissed my forehead , and handed me the envelope. Before leaving the room , she turned and left me in awe, "You can fill the college form now."

-Of course she knew about the form which I've left on pending.

As soon as she lef t, Kaycee burst through the door and shouted "Lets pack your bags!"

Seth left a day before , and trust me I wasn't elated that much. I missed him ; especially his warm hugs and his soft kisses on- what the hell is wrong with me? I need to keep these feelings to my damn self.

"Alright. Listen up girl." Kaycee looked straight into my eyes , when we were done packing up my bags.

"You're going over there to prove yourself. You'll tell every single person who doubted you that you're worth more than anyone else. Got it?" I nodded at her in affirmation ; and she gave me her cheekiest smile. She really is my spirit animal , I don't know what I would do without her.

"Hayden!" , I shouted when I saw him standing a few meters away from me. His gaze met mine-a huge grin plastered on his face. He was wearing a black suit and matching tie, looking perfect-like the decent gentlemen he is. I ran up to him and he pulled me into a tight hug. I texted him before; told him that I would be coming to Connecticut again, in return he said he would pick me up and I couldn't say no to him.

"Looks like somebody missed me." I teased.

"Of course I did." He said as we took our places back. I saw a familiar-looking girl behind him, Ayesha.

"Hi Lauren." She smiled.

"Ayesha it's good to see you." I gave her a hug.

"Yeah. How are you?" She asked politely.

"I'm good, thanks."

"I feel left out!" I heard the ever annoying  voice of my dear best friend.

"Kaycee." I warned her.

"Sorry, didn't see you there." Hayden smirked at her.

"Yeah, yeah." She rolled her eyes and moved away from us. I shook my head at her misbehavior.

"Alright. Lets go." said Hayden, motioning me towards the car.

"Where?"

"Home."
