Seth's POV
"He's my father."
I said it.
I finally told her.
The second those words left my mouth, I started to doubt my decision. I shifted my eyes from my so called father, who was currently enjoying his victory to Lauren.
She was pale, it seemed like the blood drained out of her body. Her eyes almost popped out, she was still in confusion what she heard was correct or wrong.
"Y..your f..father?" She stammered.
"Yes."
Before she could ask anything else. I hastily took her out from the building, jumped in the car and stormed off. I glance at her while driving she was playing with her fingers, she usually did it when she was nervous. I knew thousands of questions would be running in her head and I was ready to answer every single of them. But the only thing I wasn't ready was for her judgment.
I shook away all the negative thoughts from my mind, I held the steering wheel a bit too tight. The speed of car was above the usual speed, I saw Lauren clenching her shirt as if her life dependent on it. I finally stopped the car after reaching the destination.
Lauren and I got out of the car and walked on the silent road, there was no exchange of words between us. The only audible sound was of our heavy breathing. Somehow I managed to hold her soft tiny hand, it gave me a comforting feeling even though the situation wasn't comfortable.
We walked a mile and came to halt, no houses were around. Just the two of us and a long road on the right side of us and on the other side a cliff. Her green eyes bored onto me asking for an explanation.
I let out a sigh before speaking, "Hyk the famous fighter and boxer is my biological father. My grandfather was against the relation of my parents but my mother married him anyway. When I was 8 I guess, he left us because of some other woman probably. My mother kept asking him the reason but he never told her. My grandfather kept me as a secret of the family because my mother's marriage was a secret itself." I paused.
"I..I never mentioned to my mother about this."
"About what?"
"He used to bring me to the fights on every weekend, my mom had forbidden him to take me over there but he never cared. One night, I was running at the backside looking for my dad, I ran in to him with another woman, I was too young to understand anything. My dad beat me and threatened me to not speak a word to my mom. Then he started beating me in my mother's absence. He eventually left but I still never spoke of it to my mom. Sometimes I feel like I made a mistake, I destroyed everything. If I had never ran into them he would've never left."
I finished my tale and met Lauren's gaze. I couldn't read her face, she opened her mouth to say something but closed it. She took a step towards me and wrapped her arms around my neck.
"It's okay Seth. He was never truly your father, if he was he would've think about leaving you and your mom. You were just a kid. You did nothing wrong." She whispered. I wrapped my hands around her waist and got lost in her fragrance. I don't know how many minutes we passed in the same position, we both denied leaving each other.
"Do you wanna go home?" I asked politely.
"I want ice cream first." Her voice sounded like a child. I couldn't resist a chuckle, "Alright." We pulled back, I stared at her beautiful face. My gaze fell down on her soft pink lips, at that moment I wanted to capture those and marked them. I leaned in but Lauren tilted her head and moved back.
