Lauren POV

I was busy packing my bags when I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." I said while making some place for my books.

"Done packing?" I heard Kaycee's annoyed voice, she was mad at me. Well I didn't want to be a burden to anyone so I decided I would live in my college hostel until my education ends. But Kaycee wanted me to stay over her house. I didn't see the point of living over here when she herself won't be here.

I nodded and turned my head, "Still mad?"

"Duh." She rolled her eyes.

"Kaycee you know my reasons, stop being a stubborn brat."

"Fine. I just want you to be happy and safe. Do you think you can live in a dorm with a stranger?"

"Well I can try." She nodded and gave me hug.

"Thank you for being my friend."

"And thank you for being my savior." I heard her chuckled.

We pulled back and I heard her muttering something. "What?" I asked.

"I forgot to take you on shopping."

I furrowed my brows. "What shopping?"

"Remember that event Clavane's are hosting."

"So?"

"So you're coming and I'm taking you on shopping to buy you a dress."

"No. Kaycee I don't wanna go there. I'm not even invited plus if I go there with your family people will give you guys suspicious looks and I don't want that."

"Well my house keeper gave me two invitation cards, one was for us and other was for you."

"Hayden." I said through gritted teeth.

"Yup." She said popping the word 'p' in it.

"But i-" before I could even finished my sentence she grabbed me by my hand and dragged me out of the house.

We went on from one shop to another shop but couldn't buy any dresses because according to Kaycee some didn't go by my personality, some were too fancy and some were too simple. I just couldn't understand what this girl wanted.

We both were looking around the dresses in one shop we entered ten minutes ago. Kaycee was explaining the worker over there what exactly she wanted.

Just then I had a glimpse on a silk dress, it was plain rose gold sleeveless dress. It had some patterns on the bottom of the dress, it was an elegant yet simple dress and perfect for the event.

"Do you wanna try this?" A soft voice echoed in my ear I turned and see a lady maybe in her mid thirties looking at me.

"I don't know. I'm confused."

"Oh its alright. You'll look good in it. Go try." She gave me warm smile. I nodded and went into the changing room.

I quickly but carefully put on the dress and I examined myself in a mirror for a minute, a huge grin plastered on my face. It fitted perfectly on my body. I went out of the room and found Kaycee and the lady talking.

"Uhmm." I cleared my throat known my presence. They both turned their heads to me.

"Well?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Oh. My. God. Lauren Campbell you look absolutely gorgeous!" Kaycee squealed.

"I told you, you'll look good in this dress." The lady smiled. I smiled back. "Thanks."
