*Chloe's POV*

"I'm so ready to get back to work," I admit as we take our food to a table. Ethan sits down in front of me.

"Why's that?" Ethan asks.

"I like having something to do with my free time and I'm going to have to build my money up again." I bite into my burger and Ethan's eyes concentrate on me.

"What happened to the money you had saved up?"

"I had to use it to bail you out." I tell him the truth and he flinches as if my words hurt him.

"Chloe, I'm sorry. I will pay you back every cent." He rubs his temples with his hands and avoids eye contact with me for a moment.

"Ethan it's okay. You'd do the same for me."

"But don't you get it? That's the thing, Chloe! I'm never going to have to bail you out of jail because you're a good person and you have ambitions and goals and the only thing I have going for me in life is you." His voice gets a little loud and my mouth parts slowly. I place my hand over his and his eyes dart toward me.

"Calm down, Ethan. You're going to cause a scene. Let's just eat our dinner, okay?" I rub my thumb across the back of his hand and he sighs.

"Okay, I'm sorry." He mumbles before biting into his sandwich. I nod in acceptance toward his apology.

"Ethan, listen. You say that the only thing going for you in your life is me and that's not true. You have a ton going for you. You're sweet and kind and helpful and smart. You can become absolutely anything you wish to be." I grab his hand from across the table and give him a reassuring smile. Relief washes over him as he smiles back at me.

"I think I know what I want to be," he says softly.

"And what's that?" I ask him.

"What if I became a school counselor? You said I'm helpful right? What if I help children talk about their problems so I can make sure they don't end up like me?" I can hear the excitement in his voice and I can't contain my happiness for him.

"Ethan, that sounds perfect. I think you'd be a great school counselor." I really do believe he'd be great at it. He can speak from experience and help children talk about their feelings rather than bottling them up.

"What movie do you want to watch,
Chlo?" Ethan asks me while I change into my pajamas.

"We can watch batman if you want," I sit in his bed and lay my back against the headboard. He puts in the DVD and slides into bed beside of me.

"Thanks for never giving up on me." Ethan whispers as the movie begins and I shrug.

"I never will."

I lay my head on his chest and scoot close to him. He wraps his arm around me and pulls the blanket over us. How great is it to be in the same bed, warm and cozy, with the person you love? How great is it to be consumed in silence (minus the movie) and listen to the heartbeat of the person you love? It's absolutely phenomenal. It makes me so happy to be here with Ethan.

"Good morning, sleepy head." Ethan greets me as my eyes flutter open. I must've fell asleep last night. I don't even remember getting ten minutes into the movie.

"Hi," I speak softly. I'm still so sleepy.

"I don't want you to go," Ethan whines, rubbing my back slowly.

"I don't want to go either but I've got to get back to work and you have to follow your dreams of becoming a school counselor." I mumble against his chest and he chuckles.
