"So you've been keeping his secret for how many days now?" Ethan asks me over the phone. I decided, the other day, to tell Ethan about Mike wanting me to pretend to be his girlfriend for his parents. Surprisingly, Ethan was okay with it as long as Mike keeps his hands to himself and doesn't try to touch me inappropriately which he won't considering he's not attracted to me in the slightest bit. He's like Josh but way less girly.

"Well I met his parents Saturday and I didn't work Sunday because the pub isn't open on Sunday's. Today is Thursday so two days from a week, I believe. His parents honestly are so oblivious. It's crazy. They almost saw him and Trey kissing behind the bar on Tuesday but Mike lied when it could've been the perfect opportunity to tell them." I explain as Kyle and Veronica walk in holding hands. Adorable! They wave hello to me and I keep talking to Ethan.

"Maybe you should tell his parents? I mean for Petes sakes, Chloe. The man is thirty seven years old!" Ethan exclaims.

"I promised I wouldn't tell them. He said he would tell them this week because they're going back to Arizona Saturday night." I tell him. He sighs, understanding the situation.

"I trust you, Chloe. Besides, it's hard to be involved with a gay man." Ethan laughs loudly making me giggle along with him.

"That's true. Well, good luck on your exam! I'm going to hang out with Veronica and Kyle before work. I love you!"

"I love you most," Ethan tells me. I envision his smile in my mind.

"No way." I hang up quickly before he can tell me any different. I shove my phone into my pocket and notice Kyle and Veronica furiously kissing in the kitchen.

"Oh gosh! It burns! My eyes!" I squeal dramatically, making Veronica jump and pull away from Kyle quickly.

"Oh, shut up! I've seen you and Ethan practically fucking before!" She yells at me and I roll my eyes.

"Don't act like you don't love to watch." I smirk toward her and she makes a gagging sound.

"Ew, as if!" She squeals, quoting Clueless, a favorite movie of mine.

"You guys are funny," Kyle shakes his head, smiling.

"Thanks babe," Veronica pecks his cheek and I give him a thank you nod.

"So, what're we going to do?" Veronica asks me and I shrug.

"Wanna get some food at the pub? I have to go in around four o'clock anyways and it's almost three now. They have amazing food."

"Sounds good," Kyle and Veronica say in unison and I grab my work shirt and bring it with me so I can change before my shift starts.

"What should we get?" Veronica asks me as her eyes scan the menu.

"You'd like the chicken on rye," I tell her, pointing to it on the menu. Her eyes get wide as she reads the description.

"Oooo, yes. I'm getting that." She closes the menu and I decide to get some loaded buffalo chips while Kyle settles on some spicy wings.

"You guys ready?" Cassidy approaches us and I nod. We give her our orders and she takes them to the back. I don't really see Cassidy when I work. It's normally just Haylee and I working the floor except last night I worked with Lindsey. I guess Haylee called out.

"How are you and Ethan?" Kyle asks, taking a sip of his beer.

"We're actually doing really good. He's changing for the better and I'm very proud of him." I admit, feeling happy inside. My little soldier, so cute and making his life better as the days go on.
