Apologies for the delay in posting, my computer died and I have only just got a new one.  I also want to thank AngelLove394 for creating my new cover.

Anyway, on with the story.....

Sarah was tired, like really tired and she had no idea why. She was sleeping well and thought that she might be meeting with Jacinta, but for the life of her she couldn't remember. She woke up feeling fuzzy. She stretched her arms over her head and winced as she felt a pull where she had been injured. She rolled up the sleeve of her pyjama top to take a look at her injury. It was healing well but it still felt quite warm to the touch and was rather tender when she pressed on it. A large bruise was forming where she had been hit by a part of the ceiling that had collapsed in the book store fire, so that didn't help either.

She jumped out of bed, grabbed her clothes and headed for the bathroom to take a shower. Thank god they have some modern amenities on this world, she thought to herself as she stood under the warm water. I must get some new clothes too. She knew Julia had finished her dress, but she really wasn't a dress girl. Jeans and t-shirts were more her speed, but clothes on this world were a lot different and she would have stuck out like a sore thumb. Emerald had managed to procure herself some soft leather pants with a matching vest, but Sarah hadn't had the courage to wear them yet. Emerald had looked great in hers though, but Sarah thought she would look ridiculous as they reminded her of the clothes one would see a character wearing in a movie - it was just too surreal.

She slipped into her brown trousers that she had got from the cottage with the matching shirt. Both had been washed so many times they were starting to fade. Carefully brushing her hair, she tied it up in a loose plait before heading to the dining room for breakfast.

The smell of pancakes greeted her as she opened the door and she had a wide smile on her face as she greeted Emerald "You've been cooking."

Em giggled and nodded her head "I remembered these were your favourite, especially on Sunday mornings."

"Aw, that's so sweet, thanks Em."

"My pleasure."

"So you like these do you?" Julia asked.

Sarah grinned "Yep. My Dad used to cook up a batch for me. It was kind of a father/daughter thing we had going."

"That must have been very special for you."

Sarah sighed "It was."

"So, where are your parents?"

"At home" Emerald interjected.

"And they are okay with you travelling to the Capital?"

Emerald nodded her head "They are. They trust me to get Sarah there safely."

Sarah felt a little confused. She'd been asked questions before about where they came from, but not about her family, so why the sudden interest.

"You must miss your parents, both of you."

Sarah and Em both nodded. "I do, I can't wait until I see them again." Sarah said quietly.

"Will they meet you, in the Capital?"

Sarah wasn't sure what to else to say "Maybe."

Julia gave her a quizzical look before heading back to the kitchen.

"What was that all about?" Sarah whispered to Em.

She shrugged her shoulders "No idea, c'mon, tuck in, we're expected at the book shop."

"I am so tired of lugging books around."

"I know, but today should be the last day and Mr Turner might let you look at some of his rare books."
