GRACELYN'S POV
A bright light flashed in my eyes. I squeezed my eyes shut even tighter, hoping to block the light out with no prevail. I groaned and shifted up to a sitting position, only to be pulled back down by a pair of strong arms. I looked over and smiled. Jeremy had his eyes shut tight and his eyebrows knitted together. I gently tried prying off his arms but he only tightened his grip. I wriggled around in his grip so I was facing him.
"Don't leave." He whispered in a raspy morning voice. I giggled and planted a kiss on his nose.
"Why, because I'm warm?" I teased.
"No, because you're keeping the light out of my eyes." He said.
"Rude." I laughed.
"Sassy." He mumbled, flipping over as I climbed out of the bed, although I could see the smile on his face.
"You know you love me." I laughed sassily.
"XOXO, Gossip Girl." Jeremy said without missing a beat, causing me to burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" He asked, finally sitting up and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
"How do you know the Gossip Girl outro?" I said still laughing.
"I don't know, I guess I just like the show." He laughed.
"Alright, whatever. I'm going downstairs to get breakfast." I said, stumbling to the door.
"I'm going back to sleep. Goodnight world." He stated, flopping back down under the covers.
"Bye."
I made my way down the stairs and into the kitchen, finding Eric already there, making pancakes, fully dressed.
"You always up this early?" I sat on one of the stools in front of the island where he was cooking, resting my chin in the palm of my hands.
"I could ask you the same thing." He laughed, glancing up at me.
"How did last night go?" I asked.
"Good. He took it well." Eric replied without glancing up.
"That's great." He nodded.
"So what are the plans for today?" I reached for one of the already made pancakes and began piling toppings on it.
"Well, I'm leaving today." I nearly choked on my food.
"What, you're serious?" I asked, eyes wide.
"Unfortunately." He smiled a little.
"But you've only been her for like 4 days!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah, but I've done everything I needed. I looked at jobs and I told Jeremy.... everything is done. There's no other reason for me to stay. Plus Jeremy's mom has been gracious enough as it is. Don't want to hold her back any farther." He continued pouring the batter and flipping the pancakes.
"And you're sure that you have to leave today?" I frowned.
"Yeah, I've already booked a flight for later tonight." He shrugged his shoulders, placing another pancake on the plate.
I frowned deeper.
"Look, I know you're upset and Jeremy probably will be too, but I can't stay here forever. I need to go back home, back to my part time job and my family." He looked me in the eyes.
I sighed. "Yeah, I know. I just didn't think it would come this fast."
"Me either." We were both quite for a few moments.
