Jeremy's POV
(Time skip: A few weeks)
"Hey Gracie!" I played with her hair as I walked in her house. She shut the door and slapped my hand away, making me laugh.
"I told you never to touch my hair. EVER!" She looked at me completely serious and I couldn't help but laugh more. "You know, you're not very good at that serious look." I laughed and dragged my backpack to the kitchen. I threw it on the kitchen counter just as Mrs. Smith walked in.
"Oh hey Jeremy! You and Gracelyn gonna study?" I flashed her a big smile and nodded. "Yup!"
She smiled, grabbed her phone and walked out the door again.
"JEREMY!! YOU COMIN?" Gracelyn screamed from upstairs. "YA! IM COMIN! HOLD UP!" I yelled back up. I got my math book and phone out of my bag and ran up the stairs, skipping two at a time. I skipped into Gracelyn's room and threw my book on her desk and jumped on her bed. I began scrolling through my twitter. I really didn't feel like math. And by the way Gracelyn was texting, I knew she had no interest either.
'You don't know you're beautiful oh oh oh that's what makes you beautiful!' Her ringtone went off.
"You know, you should really pick a better ringtone." I smiled without looking up.
"Shut up." She threw a pillow at me and accepted the call.
"Hello?...Hey!..Not much, just hangin with Jeremy....NO....You are so weird!" She laughed into the phone. I looked up to see what she was doing. Who was she talking to?
"Haha Yeah.......NO NOT DOING THAT. Just studying for math I swear..." I laughed and immediately understood. She was talking to one of her best friends Olivia. She's the only totally perverted one. Sometimes Stephanie on occasions.
"Yeah...yup......go ahead.....See you in 10." She clicked off the phone and turned to me.
"Get your lazy butt up and get your math done." She pushed me till I went rolling off the bed on to the floor.
"But I don't want to!" I whined from the floor. "The girls are coming in ten minutes with 'big news' so you gotta get your math done so you can get out of here." She said checking her teeth in her mirror.
I sat up and smirked. "Ooh. But I love gossip! What's the 411? What's happenin in the clique? Who's dating who?"
"Oh shut up. We aren't always like that." She laughed. "Fine. You can stay." I smiled and got back on the bed, turning my phone back on. Gracelyn reached over and snatched my phone right out of my hands and dangled it in the air in front of me. "But, you have to be social. Meaning no phone or internet. Agreed?" I groaned. No internet? She must be going crazy. "But.." I protested.
"No buts. Now get up. Their probably here now. Liv is picking them up and she's always early." She said just as the doorbell rang. "I'm comin!" She shouted over her shoulder before turning to me. "Behave.." She hissed before running down the stairs. This might sound awkward, but she was really hot when she got serious. I listened as she opened the door and.......nothing. No sound except for a "hey" from Grace. Usually when she opened the door to her friends, I heard screaming and gossip and laughing but not today. Something was weird. I heard a single voice ask, "Hey can you come out for a second?" The voice was definitely a guy's. I crept out of the room and looked down the banister to see who she was talking to. I didn't catch who was the mystery person because she closed the door right as I reached the edge to look down. I sighed and went back into her room. Who was she talking to? I fell back onto her bed and picked up my phone once more. I decided to let it blow over and check my instagram feed instead. Whoever she was talking to had nothing to do with me so I shouldn't care. But for some strange reason, I cared.
GRACELYN'S POV
I stepped outside as Brady from my school took out a rose from behind his back. I stood staring at him. I've like Brady since 7th grade. What was he up to? He looked me dead in the eye and started speaking slowly. "Gracelyn, I've liked you for a long time. I've finally worked up the nerve to do this. Whoo." He exhaled deeply. "Will you go out with me this Saturday?" His eyes pleaded with mine and I couldn't help but smile. "Yes." I barely spoke. This couldn't be happening. He handed me the rose and let out another breath of relief. "You do not know how scared I was that you would say no." He laughed nervously and smiled at me with his chocolate brown eyes. "I've liked you for a long time too." I said. He smiled even bigger just as his phone went off. He looked down at his phone then back up at me. "Oh. I gotta go. My mom wants me home. It's getting pretty dark anyway. I was hoping we could talk a little more but we can do that on Saturday. So, I guess I'll see you then?" he asked hopefully. I nodded and he grinned. "Good. Well, see you then." He planted a kiss on my cheek and started jogging down the driveway, pausing to wave at my now-arriving friends. He turned back one last time to blow me an air kiss and I waved. Felicity came up to me and stared me straight in the eye.
"What. Happened."
I laughed and led them inside. We ran up the stairs into my room to start talking when I noticed Jeremy on my bed. I totally forgot he was here. He looked up as he heard us enter and smiled to the girls. "Hey guys. Having a gossip party, are we?" They laughed and all gave him hugs. That's what I loved about him. He always greeted my friends like they were his friends. Which technically they were. Me and Jeremy are best friends now. His friends are my friends and vice versa. We all sat on the bed, Jeremy skootching over to give us room. We all sat there for a minute not saying anything. Finally, Stephanie spoke up. "Are you staying Jeremy?" She asked nicely. I looked over at her. "He's fine. He just wants to know what's happening."
She raised her hands in defense. "I didn't mean it in a bad way. I was just wondering."
Jeremy stood up and pulled his shirt down. He jerked his thumb towards the door and picked up his math book. "I can leave if you guys want.." He slowly walked over to the door.
"No! No! You can stay!" Olivia shouted, getting up to pull him back to the bed. All of us knew Olivia had a crush on Jeremy. She was so obvious about it. He didn't mind though. He was always nice about it. He sat back down on the bed and we started to talk.
"WHAT HAPPENED OUT THERE?!?!" Stephanie screamed at the top of her lungs. She always had a loud voice. We all started to laugh.
"Well, to start, Brady just asked me out."
