I stood staring at the phone in disbelief. He hung up on me. On my own phone. He. Hung. Up. On. Me. God, I can't believe this! I want my phone back! I have friends! I have things to do! Who does he think he is? Oh yeah, Jeremy Shada. Well, I don't care. It's my phone and I want it back.
I was busy pacing my room and thinking about how angry I was when I heard the doorbell ring. I groaned and opened my bedroom door.
"I GOT IT!" I shouted down the hallway. I took a deep breath to control my anger and opened the front door.
"Hey," he said with a smirk playing on his face. Once again, I stared in disbelief. He wasn't wearing any disguise this time. Just in jeans, a tee, and his black sweater.
I quickly pulled myself together and crossed my arms across my chest.
"I take it you are here to give me my phone back?" I looked at Jeremy with a bitter expression touching at the corners of my mouth. I was surprised at how calm I was. "How did you get here so fast anyway?" I spat at him.
"Well, no need to be rude. Yes, I came back to get my phone. And I live just across the street." He turned and pointed at the house in front of mine.
"Are you serious?"
"Yup. We can be best friends now! We already have each other's numbers. And we're neighbors!" He punched me playfully on my arm, causing me to laugh. I have no idea why, but I'm ticklish just about everywhere.
"Ticklish, are we?" He smirked again.
"Oh, no. Don't you dare," I warned him. Too late. He reached forward and grabbed the sides of my waist and started tickling me uncontrollably causing me to fall backwards into the house. He followed, still tickling, but slowly stopped, looking around.
"Nice place you got here." He commented, walking around the entryway.
"Yeah right. I bet your's is ten times better." I replied, wiping the tears from my eyes that managed to leak out during our little tickle war.
He shook his head and turned to look at me. "No, actually, the layouts are very similar." His eyes were gorgeous. I couldn't tell what color they were exactly. They were a hazel but grey at the same time. He held my gaze as I stared into his eyes, trying to uncover the mystery.
"Hey Gracie, have you seen my- oh. Who's this?"
We both turned our heads to see Stacy standing in the doorway of the kitchen.
"Oh, um, this is, um..." I stuttered. I realized we never actually met each other formally. I knew who he was but he didn't know who I was.
"Jeremy Shada. Nice to meet you. And what's your name?" He stepped forward and grabbed Stacy's hand, shaking it gently. She looked at him, eyes wide. "Jeremy Shada? THE Jeremy Shada?"
He smiled and nodded politely.
"Oh my god!" She practically screamed. "Gracie talks about you all the time! I had to know who you were so I started watching your show, and it's really good by the way, I'm hooked! Wow! Gracie, aren't you glad you finally get to meet your idol? This is so great!" I could feel my face reddening. I grabbed Jeremy's hand and tugged him in the direction of my room. "C'mon Jeremy." I mumbled. He said bye to my sister and followed me down the hall. I don't know why I was taking him to my room. I just had to get away from Stacy before she could embarrass me more.
"Your sister seems nice." He commented.
"Ya, don't listen to her. She's a bit crazy." I grumbled angrily.
"Is it true that I'm your idol?" He teased, poking my cheek.
I dropped his hand and walked faster towards my room, groaning, only causing him to laugh. We entered my room and I shut the door behind him.
"I like your room," he said, plopping down on the bed. I sat down next to him, surveying my room. I never looked at it in a point of view of a visitor. I nodded slowly. I turned to look at him.
"We never really introduced ourselves." I said.
He nodded and smiled. "Well I think you know me," I blushed. "Hey don't be ashamed." He raised his hands in defense. "I love the ladies," he smirked playfully and I smacked him lightly on the arm. He laughed and continued. "Your sister kinda introduced you and you told me yesterday. Gracelyn? Gracie?" I nodded.
"My full name is Gracelyn but only adults use it or when I'm in trouble. Most people call me Gracie or Grace."
He nodded. "Pretty name." I blushed and he poked my stomach. Again, really ticklish. I started giggling, trying to hold in my laughter. He laughed with me and we both fell backwards on my queen bed. We stared up at the ceiling for a few minutes before he sat up abruptly, digging through his jacket pocket. I sat up at a slower speed and watched as he began to pull something out of his pocket.
"I believe this is yours." He handed me my phone and I took it from him thankfully. I reached over him to the bedside table and picked up his phone, handing it to him.
"And I believe this is yours." He smiled and put it in his pocket. We talked for a little while more about his career and my school and other random things when his phone went off.
"Hello? Yeah... Uh huh...ok.....ok....see you then.....ok....bye Olivia." He hung up the phone and turned to me. "I gotta go. They want me in the studio. Ill swing by later or you can just call me and we can talk then." He stood up and slipped on his jacket. He dropped his phone in his pocket and started for the door. I followed him out into the hallway. When he reached the main door, he turned around to face me.
"I'm really glad we're friends. You can come by whenever you want. My mom doesn't mind visitors. Call me whenever." He pulled me into a hug and opened the door. He stepped outside and waved back at me before running across the street to his Mercedes. I closed the door as he drove away. My back pressed up against the heavy wood and I looked up at the ceiling. I released a heavy sigh while my thoughts jumbled around in my brain. Did I just do what I thought I did? Yes. I just befriended Jeremy Shada.
