A Night To Remember

Chapter 5

I read the sign that says"Welcome to Northtank". Happiness is indescribable as I reached my parents house. It's a nice feeling to be home. I parked my car, grab my bags and went out from it. I pressed the doorbell excitedly. My mom hurriedly opened the gate. She was very surprised seeing me. She hugs me tightly, I feel comfort when she hugs me like this.
"Mom, seriously! Do you want me to die?"
I said jokingly while smiling.

"Oh, Flame! I just so really missed you!" She leads me inside the house and guided me to sit.

"Flame! Is that you?" I turn my head to see my father with a big grin on his face.

"Yes dad! Of course its me" I stood from where I sat and hugged him. He released me from his hug and lead me back to the chair.

"How are you Flame?" Both my parents asked.

"I'm fine, I am here to unwind and of course to visit you" I smiled at them.

" But how about your job?" My mom asked.

"I stopped teaching for a while mom, sorry I didn't informed you but I really need to do it" I looked at them. I hope they won't asked what the reason is.

My father was about to ask some more question when my mother noticed my expression.

" Hon, can you bring Flame's things to her room? My mom said to stop my dad from asking me questions. My dad nod his head in reply. My mom came to me and hugged me once more.

"Flame, I am so happy that you came here and visit us. Whatever your problem is, remember that God will give you the solutions, just trust on him" I nod my head and smiled at my mom. Our drama moment stops when my phone rings. I excused myself from my mom to answer this call and went to the veranda.

" Where are you Flame? I've been in your house but you weren't there? Jake asked frantically.....

"Oh my God! I'm sorry Jake! I forgot to leave a note, actually, I'm in the Northtank." I told him honestly.

"Northtank? Why you didn't told me? You got me worried sick!.. " He said almost shouting.
I can't find a word to reply, it was really my fault why he is angry at me. We promised that we should inform each other whatever our activity is or wherever we will go and now I failed that promised.
I can hear his deep sigh on the line. He is controlling his temper now.

"Flame! Are you still there?" Jake asked.

"Ehm, yes!" I nod my head even if he can't see me.

"Look Flame, I am sorry, sorry that I yelled at you, I am just so worried, I thought..... I thought that someone already took you." Jake said worriedly.

"I'm fine Jake, really. I came here just to visit my family. I missed them so much, if you want, you can come here this Sunday and bring Hailey with you."

"Okay, just tell your mom and dad that we'll be coming over this weekend, alright, so that they will not be surprised .......and....ahmm.... Flame?" He calls me before I can turn off my phone.

"Yes" I answered him

"Take care always?" He said, then ends the call.

My lips twitched to a smile as I heard what he said. I am so thankful that I have Jake as my friend.......

The day ends fast, I am now lying on my bed and ready to sleep. I have lots of happy memories here, and I want to hold those memories for now and forget the bad ones.

I heard a loud and angry knocks on the door . I opened it hurriedly, afraid that my parents will hear the noise. As I opened the door, I saw a body of a man lying dead on the ground. I cannot see his face but his body figure is very familiar. I kneeled down and noticed that the man is holding a cellphone. I gasped in shocked as I realized who is it.....
"No!....no....! This can't be him!......... Noooooooo......!" I shouted..
