Chapter 10

"I am a vampire Flame" Jake looked at me. " and I know you are too! I watched him, surprised.... I was right, I was right about him..
"When did you know about me being a vampire" I asked.

".... Since from the day you quitted from your job Flame" Jake said with guiltiness in his voice.

"Then why didn't you tell me Jake, why did you continue in making me believe that you're human... Why did you got angry when I asked you?" I asked to Jake everything what's in my mind.

"B-because I am afraid that you will hate me Flame, that you will be scared of me...and above all that I don't want you to be in danger.."

I shake my head. This is a complete crap.
"How can I hate you Jake when all you did was to protect me... and you think that I am still not in danger? I am now Jake...I am now...."

"Flame you don't understand...!"

"Why Jake?" I asked... I am so confused right now.... "Please tell me Jake!" I pleaded.
Jake nod his head and sigh then lead me to a nearby bench.
"Do you still remember the man in the beach Flame? Jake asked.. I nod my head, of course I wouldn't forget that.... I looked up to Jake that instant as I remembered how scared and angry he was at that time.
" D-Don't tell me, he was the one who turned you" I said stuttering....He nods his head.
"That is why I warned you about him. He's dangerous, he can kill us with just a snap of his fingers Flame..... You must be extra careful now Flame especially that you already knew who he is and what he is" My body shivers just thinking of that man. I suddenly remembered Zire.....are they related or something..

"Jake!... Do you knew a vampire named Zire?" I asked.
Jake thinks for a while then nod his head.

"I knew him Flame, he was the one who saved me from the night I was bitten. He was the reason why I am still here alive and breathing.... but even if I'm different already I am still thankful that he saved me....." I can't believed what Jake is telling me now. My mind can't accept this new information. I don't know what to feel about Zire now. He saved Jake but he turned me into a monster. I was awoken from my trance when Jake asked me questions that is very hard for me to answer.

"Why do you know him Flame? Anyway,...
who turned you?" Jake asked.

I just stared at Jake, not able to answer. I don't know if I am going to tell him or not. Maybe not for now, because I don't want him to be in trouble. I don't know what Zire is capable of. If the man that turned Jake into a vampire is powerful then maybe Zire too.

"I don't know Jake, I was not able to see him clearly...I-It was so dark." I lied to Jake.. Conscience is eating me up. He confessed everything then all I did was to lie on him. Jake hugs me when he noticed me not feeling comfortable about the topic.

"Flame, I am thankful that the vampire who turned you didn't kill you but I will not forgive him for making you one. If I will see him I promised to make avenge on you" Jake said, determination is evident in his voice.

"No Jake, Please don't do anything that might put you into trouble " Jake just sigh then release me from his hug. We decided to stay here for a while. We talked about the things happened to me and Jake. How our life changed with just a blink of an eye. I wasn't feeling scared talking with Jake because I knew he wouldn't do anything that can harm me. I also asked him if he drinks blood. He nods his head. He told me also about Hailey being a vampire as well. Hailey wasn't turned, she's a vampire since birth because her parents are vampires too. Jake and Hailey met in one of the bar in the city. I can't believe when Jake told me how old Hailey is, she is already 180 years old but she looks like 23. Jake became a vampire on his 20th birthday and now he is already 25 years old. I realized how am I so blinded and so unaware of the things that surrounds me.

It's almost twelve when we decided to get inside the house. I was about to open the door in my room when Jake speaks.
"Flame.... Thank you once again, for not getting scared of me, for understanding and sorry that I yelled at you" I nod my head and smiled to Jake. I say thank you to Jake as well, then we went inside our rooms.

I released a deep sigh as soon as I am in my room. This day was quite interesting. I went to the bathroom. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. I looked at my reflection for a while then wipes the wet on  my face and went to my bed.
My body was tired but sleeps didn't visit me yet. My eyes are still open. My mind was still at Jakes confession. I still can't believe that Jake and Hailey are vampires. I kept my secrets to my family including Jake and Hailey but I didn't know that they were hiding the same secret with me. I am so fool. I'm a little bit hurt of Jake not telling me about him being a vampire while he knows me being one. I jerked when I heard my window opened for the second time today. The cold night air immediately went inside my room. Maybe I should ask dad to change the lock. I stood from my bed to close my window but even before I can shut it a gush of wind passed through me. I shivered and hurriedly closed the window. As I turned, I saw someone lying on my bed feeling so comfortable. His signature smirk appeared as he looked at me. I stopped, my body went paralyzed. The man in my bed was the one who saved Jake and the one who turned me into a creature who drinks disgusting blood.
