A Night To Remember

Chapter 25

I stare at the house that Klaus stayed at.
"This is it, there's no going back" I whispered.

I closed my eyes, counting the scents in the house. One, two..... I stopped when I realized that there are many of them, some of it are vampires and others are from the witches.
Hailey was right, witches are helping him. Practicing some of the witches magic is not a waste at all, thanks to her at least I'm prepared for this.

As I open my eyes, I saw a shadow passed in front of me and a cold wind hits my skin. I tugged my jacket tighter and released a deep breath.

"Why are you early? The ceremony will still be tomorrow?" A familiar voice said.

I know who is it. It's him, Klaus Michael. I am not surprised why he's here so fast, vampires has an improved sense of smell. I slowly turn my body, facing him. I tried my best to hide the fear that I felt. Staring at his eyes makes me want to run and hide but I wouldn't do that, I've sacrificed lots of things here, including my mate.

"I am here to make a deal with you." I said.

He smirk.

"And what is that?" He said sarcastically.

I looked at him. I hope that my plan will succeed.

"Are we really going to discuss it here, outside?" I asked.

He just smile devilishly. He walked ahead and I followed. Once we're inside the house, the feeling of fear increases but I continue to walk straight. Lots of eyes are on me, watching, whispering.
I smiled mentally, I can hear their whispers clearly, FOOL! Maybe they forgot that I'm a vampire.

I stopped listening to their whispers about me when I heard Klaus voice, telling me to get in. He opened the door and allows me to go first then he follows shutting the door behind him.

"Such a gentleman" I sarcastically said to myself.

"Sit" I obeyed and sits on the chair in front of him.

We observe each other for a minute. I know his reading me, observing all my movements but I remain calm and control.

"So, what's this deal you're offering me" He asked, breaking the silence.

I composed myself and look at him straight in the eyes.

"I will help you with your plan of revenge but in one condition, leave my parents alone and set Jake free."

He laughed. His voice makes me shiver, my hands sweats cold. I watched him with knitted brows.

"I know how much you needed me, there's no need for me to marry Jake because I'll help you willingly." I said, thanking that my voice didn't betray me.

"How can I sure that you wouldn't back out from the deal. You're parents made a deal with me too and -"

"I am here, that's what the deal about right?" I said cutting him off.

" I told you that I will help you just spare my parents life and Jake." My voice came out hoarse.

"You want them to be saved?" He asked, smirking.  I just stare at him. He knows my answer, even if I won't say it, he knows what I needed.

"Then, I will accept your deal, but just remember, if you will not do your part from the deal, I will kill all of you." He said, threatening me. I gave him a glare.

"Yes, of course I will help you, deal is a deal?" He gave me a nod. Suddenly, the door opened and an old lady came in. She is a witch. I can smell her scent. She look at me for a while then to Klaus.

"You release Jake and let the other vampires who are watching Flame's parents to leave" Klaus said to the witch.

She just nod her head then went out the room immediately.

JAKE

It's been a week since Flame came here. Until now, I am still scared for her life. I can't save her. If only I was not being captured and bewitched then I can help her escape from Klaus, my wicked father. The witch whose name is Aunie put a spell in my room, a spell that stops me from escaping and spell that makes me weak.
I don't know what they can get in joining and helping Klaus.
The witches that helps him makes him became more stronger. They are all rogue, they left their families for the reasons that only Klaus knows.

I was busy staring at the ceiling that I didn't noticed the door being opened. I sit up straight as I see Aunie standing in the doorway, arms crossed.

"You are free" She uttered the words dryly.

My face turns confused and shock. Why are they setting me free? Are they backing out from their plan?
Noticing my expression, she laughed.
"I know your confused but just to inform you, you're not needed anymore, we found someone who is more useful and can help us in all our plan. So go now before we change our mind and kill you" She said.

I didn't wait to be told again, I hurriedly run using my remaining strength. I need to stay away here, fast, but as I went out from the room, I smelt something that is very familiar but I didn't mind it because what's important for now is for me to be out of this place as soon as possible.

Once I was outside the house, the light of the moon emmediately embraces me. It's a nice feeling, for us vampires, just seeing the moon makes us become secured and safe.
I stare at it, taking a deep breath... tomorrow night, everything will change, it can be better or worst but now that I'm free I'm not going to let them win.. I will stop them.

"Flame, I need to see her" I whispered.

I close my eyes, hoping that the teleportation will work. I focus my mind to their house, then minutes passed, darkness started invading my vision, I'm glad that I'm not under their spell anymore, a spell that stops me from teleporting.

When I felt that I'm not anymore moving , I slowly open my eyes and the sight of the messy room catches my attention, bottles of wines are everywhere, chairs are upside down, broken glasses are on the floor.
Shit, what happened here. Where's Flame?

"Flame! ..Auntie? Uncle?" I shouted.

"This is Jake, where are you?" There's no reply. I quickly search the rooms but I can't find them.

"Shi*t.. sh*t" I cursed myself.
"Am I too late?"
I was about to kick the wall but stopped when I suddenly heard whimpers coming from the kitchen.

I close my eyes and smells the scents. It's Flame's parents. I'm sure of it but I can smell also some fading scents.
"Someone was here!" I whispered.
As I went inside the kitchen, what I saw shocks me. Flame's parents are on the chair, tied up.
I went to them, untied their hands and remove the cloth that covers their mouth.

"T-Thankyou Jake" Uncle Greg said stuttering.

"Who did this to you!" I asked.

"Your father's men Jake. They where here to get us, they said that they needed us in order to have Flame, but what confuses us was they just stopped and left us." Uncle Greg explained.

I cursed mentally, he isn't my father. I don't have a father like him.

"J-jake! Is Flame with you?" Aunt Nina said while looking behind me.

I shook my head, her face dropped and tears started to fall.
Uncle Greg hugs and pats her wife's back.

"I thought Flame is here" I answered.
"I came here immediately after Klaus released me. He freed me just now and it confuses me as well. The witch that help him just told me that they don't need me anymore." I explained.

"I came here to see Flame, to tell her about what happened, to tell her not to show up tomorrow."

"We need to find her Jake before it's too late." He said worriedly.

I just nod my head not able to find a word to say.

"Flame! Where are you?" I said to myself.
