Chapter 16 ~ The View

Jeremy and Finnigan have been walking up the mountain for awhile and decided to take a break

They were 3/4 of the way up there

"Jeremy stop walking I'm tired"
Finnigan complained

"Aren't you the one who said we should go up here"
Jeremy looked at Finnigan

"Yeah I but I expected you to get tired first so it would look like I could handle it"

"But look at who got tired first"

"Oh shut up, let's just take a break"
Finnigan said sitting up against a rock and looking down at the kingdom

(Btw this isn't the same hill climbing thing which ended with no happy ending on TSSC that chapter is gonna be later in the book)

Jeremy sighed and walked over and sat by him

"Wow,"
Jeremy said in awe once he looked at the view

"Told ya the view was great"

"Yeah,"
Jeremy said breathlessly
"It is"

He looked over at Finnigan and just took in the way his eyes sparkled with the kingdoms light

He didn't notice he was staring until Finnigan turned his head

"We, we should go now"
Finnigan said

"But we're so close to the top"
Jeremy said which made Finnigan laughed

"I meant go to the top"
He said making Jeremy feel stupid

"Yeah yeah (*winks*) we should go"

But Jeremy didn't move

"Come on Jeremy"
Finnigan laughed out and grabbed Jeremy's hand and started pulling him up the mountain

Jeremy choked on air and stared down at their hands

He felt like he couldn't breath

And Finnigan noticed and stopped walking

"Jeremy,"
He said concerned
"Are you okay?"

Jeremy nodded his head

"Yeah, yeah I'm okay"

"That's great, come on, let's keep moving"

Finnigan let go of their hands and continued walking

"I'm okay"
Jeremy whispered to himself and looking down at his hand

20 Minutes Later
...
"Here we are,"
Finnigan announced
"The top of Mount Andrea"

"Wow, were really high up"
Jeremy said

"Awweeeee, is little Jeremy afraid of heights?"
Finnigan teased

"You should stop"

"Fineeee, come here"
Finnigan said sitting on the rock

Jeremy walked over and sat down

"It's basically the same thing, but it's still beautiful"
Finnigan said looking down at the kingdom

Then they both looked at each other

And they stayed like that

Just staring at each other in complete yet comfortable silence

"Do you have to go?"
Finnigan said breaking the silence

"Yeah, I do still have school so.."

"So we should go now"

"Yeah, I still need to pack"

"Yeah,"
Finnigan said getting up and starting to walk down the mountain

"Yeah"
Jeremy sighed out to himself
