More time has gone by. All of your wounds healed and the hospital finally lets you go home with Max. It also turns out your back is fine, thank God. The entire office throws a party for you coming home and you cry tears of joy.
Then, you begin to notice something.
These are new jeans, how do they not fit? God, I've been so bloated lately.
Of course, though, you think nothing of it. Until it doesn't go away and gets joined by fatigue and nausea. You haven't told Max yet because you don't want him to worry; especially since you just barely got out of the hospital.
You wake up one morning with Max already out of bed. You decide to go see if he's in the kitchen, but as soon as you get up, extreme dizziness hits. You stumble, not quite falling. You manage to make your way to the living room but that's when you fall. Max runs over once he hears the thud.
"(Y/N)?! What happened?!" He exclaims, lifting you up by your arms.
"I just fell, Max. I'm fine," you try to comfort him.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure."
Once you stand up a sharp pain strikes your abdomen and you wince, clutching your stomach.
"(Y/N)?!" Max exclaims again.
"I-I'm fine," you pant out. "It's just a sudden pain. Don't worry about it."
Max frowns and looks at you. "How can I not worry when you're in pain?!"
You sigh and sort of limp over to the kitchen. Max helps you and when you make the tiny adventure over, you grasp onto the island, carefully sitting in one of the chairs.
"Do you want me to make you something for breakfast?" Your husband asks.
You don't answer. Instead, you slowly pull up your shirt a bit and look at your stomach. Your eyes widen but you try not to look alarmed.
"(Y/N)?"
"Uh... Sure. I'm going to go to the bathroom real quick."
Max nods and you dash over to the bathroom, closing and locking the door behind you. Behind the door is a full body mirror.
You lift up your shirt again and turn to the side slowly. You gasp quietly and carefully place both hands on each side of your stomach. There, in the middle of your hips, is a clearly defined bump. It's not big, but it isn't not noticeable either. Another pain strikes your abdomen and you get dizzy. You fall beside the toilet and feel acid rising into your throat. Then you begin regurgitating into the toilet. It's barely morning, you haven't even had breakfast yet, and you're already vomiting.
You truly know how to start your days off right.
Max kncoks on the bathroom door, and in a worried voice, asks, "Are you okay, (Y/N)?"
You lift your head from toilet and shudder. "I think I need to stay home today," is all you answer.
"I'm going to call Adam and let him know we're both staying home today."
You don't reply. After you flush your puke and brush your teeth, you cautiously walk out of the bathroom. Rather than go back to the kitchen, you head to yours and Max's room. You lay on the bed on your back with your arms flared out, closing your eyes. You can feel the sweat starting to form on your forehead and you wipe it away.
Shit. If I'm what I think I am, I need to take a test and be sure. Max can't know about this until it's proven positive or negative.
With that being settled, you fall back asleep after waking up only an hour ago.
(A.N. Thank you to my Fandom Prom date ArwenSenpai for asking me. It's a great birthday gift to me (like I said before, my birthday is on July 31st which is also Fandom Prom). Another thing I wanted to mention was the fact that in this fanfiction, Max still works at Sky Media. I know he doesn't anymore but I just kept it like that because it'd be hard to change it right now (especially with the storyline I have planned out). I'll probably make him quit or something more towards the end because of a certain little thing that will happen ;) Sorry for another long AN!)
