Alas, the week was finally over. You and Max had tons of fun in Ireland (in many ways), but now it was time to depart back to America.

Max was currently on the phone with Adam and Alesa. You sat next to Max to listen in and he kindly put it on speaker for you.

"When is the plane departure from Ireland?" Alesa asks.

"Tomorrow morning at 10:00. So we should get to Washington by 5:00," Max answered. (How much y'all wanna bet that timing is actually wrong?)

"Should we pick you up from the airport?" Adam joined in.

"If you could do that, that'd be great," Max smiled.

"Okay then," Alesa cheered. "See you guys tomorrow!"

"Bye!" You and Max said in unison.

The call ended and your husband continued to smile at you. You smiled back but with an eyebrow raised. Max just laughed.

"C'mon, let's go to bed. We have to wake up early."

You nodded and the last fun night of Ireland began...

You sighed and looked at the time on your phone.

4:21 PM

"Max?" You whispered.

"Hmm?" He replied, not looking up from his book.

"When are we arriving?"

"Actually, I think-"

Max was quickly interrupted by the overhead intercom.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your pilot speaking. It seems we have arrived a bit earlier than on schedule. I have turned on the seatbelt light, so if you all could buckle up, we will be landing shortly."

"Never mind then," Max frowned.

You laughed and kissed his cheek. "Hey, don't become Mad Max now. Stay Glad Max. We had a fun time in Ireland and now we're back home. Don't let our pilot ruin that."

Max laughs with you.

Finally back home... In a few days, Max and I will be looking for a house so we can finally move in together. It'll be perf-

Suddenly, the plane begins to shake a bit, breaking you from your thoughts. The shaking gets harder and harder. Now everyone rushes to get their seatbelts on. You start panicking when your seatbelt doesn't clasp. Max notices and the two of you begin fumbling with it in a hurry.

"Ladies and gentlemen! This your pilot! The wheels are not coming out and we can't land properly! At this rate, we are going to crash into the runway! Please remain seated and we will figure this out! Just in case, prepare for crash landing!"

You and Max slowly look at each other in the eyes. Both faces have mixed emotions clearly painted on them. Worry, shock, sadness, fear... They all sink in.

Max wraps his arms around you tightly and you begin to cry.

"Max, my seatbelt isn't working and we're going to crash in this plane!" You exclaim.

"I won't let you get hurt," he says sternly. "Just hold onto me."

His grip on you hardens and you hold onto his arms.

The plane continues to speed downward. There's only moments before impact. You continue to cry and Max tries to hold it in, only to no prevail. Then, the plane hits ground. Hard. Right onto the tip. The crash causes you to fly forward, Max's grip no help at all. Everyone screams and you hit the front of the plane. Faces of horror are everywhere, except you can't see them.

All you can see...

...is your Glad Max turn into the Sad Max you were warned about.
