Lydia's POV :

Home sweet home . It always feels so good to come back to where it all started .I had my usual café latté in my hands as I comfortably walked in the street. I felt the excitement and the enthusiasm level getting higher with every step I took forward. I tried to be as positive as possible, to not fail to please this very important client that chose me and Wren out of all the lawyers in this area to take over his case.

I felt the weather becoming chilly and it was becoming cloudy, I rushed my steps to avoid getting wet but in vain, it was only a matter of two minutes until rain started pouring.

That's when I decided to take a taxi because actually, I had no other choice.
And indeed , I did so and the moment the taxi stopped I climbed in as fast as possible.

Someone else opened the left backdoor and climbed on.

"Excuse me sir, this taxi is for me," I said as the man was looking down trying to clean some dirt off his trousers.

"Listen I'm in a hurry and-" His eyes went wide the moment he saw me and so did mine.

Alec Lightwood, again.

"You," He said surprised.

"You, again." I said as surprised as he was.

There was silence for a minute until he finally said, "Listen I'm in hurry I had the most terrible morning so far so don't make it worse by jumping out of nowhere,"

"Oh not this time, I'm in a hurry too. I have an important meeting with-"

"I don't care," He cut me off. "Listen what do you want ? Money ? Here is it," He grabbed his wallet and looked for money.

"What the-" I tried to say but he cut me off again.

"No no really , take it," He handed me a large amount of money, "Or you know what take it all," He handed me all the money he had in his wallet. "Or you know take the wallet too, take it all just go get another taxi," he said.

"Why in hell do you always think I'm looking for money !" I finally shouted.

"Because-" He tried to say but I cut him off this time.

"Because what ! Do I look like I need money ?" I said my voice a bit loud.

He looked at me for a minute and then back at me, "No," he said.

"You two can argue outside, get the hell out of my taxi." The driver finally broke out argument and kicked us out.

-------

"Are you happy now ?" Alec screamed as the taxi driver drove away leaving us in the middle of the street, under the rain

"How in hell is that supposed to be my fault ?" I frowned.

"You're the one who's getting in my way a lot these days," He said.

"Oh I'm absolutely not doing that on purpose," I looked around the street looking for another taxi. "It's not like I'm dying to see you everyday," I added.

"Oh and I am ?" He commented. "Dammit there are no taxis passing by," He mumbled, loud enough for me to hear it.

I watched him walking a the same steps over and over and mumbling few words under his breath. He looked like he was missing his wedding.

"Can you stop doing that ? You're stressing me even more." I said then looked down at my watch, I should be at work in fifteen minutes otherwise I'll be late.

"Stressing you ?" He covered his face with his both hands. "Stressing you ? I'm the one who's stressed here ! I have an imporant reunion right now and if I miss it I'll be losing the biggest chance of my life," He said.
