Lydia's POV:

We ordered our food which turned out to be amazing. Only the Blue's serves steaks that can be this tasty and delicious.

I took a sip from my Blue Spray Cocktail and then looked up back at Alec, staring at his eyes for a while.

"Okay now that's creepy. Stop it." He said looking down at his plate.

"You just look," I tried to say as he raised his eyebrow waiting for me to say something. "Nothing, nevermind." I put my fork down.

"Spill it," He ordered.

"You look so familiar," I finally said and put my both palms on my cheeks.

"How ?" He asked not looking interested.

"Well, it's kind of a boring story I don't think you'd like to hear anyway."

"Oh trust me, I hear a lot of stories in the company that I wish could throw myself off a cliff rather than hear them. So shoot." He said using pointing at me with his fork.

I laughed at his sarcasm then said, "Okay so it's kind of a long story, but I'll give you the long-story-short version." I took a deep breath then started, "When I was a kid, I had this neighbour who was only couple years older than me. We grew up together and we did everything together, he was like a brother to me. I remember how we went around pranking people and beating the shit out of kids who bothered us. We were so protective towards each other, I remember that once I fought with one of the kids in the neighbourhood so he broke the doll that I loved the most and always carried with me. So Dylan, my best friend, kicked that kid's ass then fixed my doll. It didn't look perfect though, but what he did meant a lot for me. We even went to summer vacations together with our families.

We had this tree house that we prepared together, we'd spend most of our time over there sharing secrets and telling jokes.

We just got along so well, I remember that he always dreamt about becoming a pilot, I also remember the night when we were preparing our future marriage." I laughed at the memory.

I looked up and noticed that Alec was actually paying attention to me, I even noticed a little smile appearing on his face. "And then what ?" He asked a little while after I paused.

"Once I woke up in the morning and raced to the tree house because we always met there every single morning. But he wasn't there, I remember waiting for hours for him to show up, but he didn't.

I went back to my place and heard my mom talking to one of our neighbours, I still can remember her words exactly. "They had a car accident, Dylan and his father both died and Martha's condition is severe. She may not make it as well." " I blinked to shake the tears filled up my eyes then continued.

"He was only ten years old, I remember crying myself to sleep every night and waiting for him in the tree house to show up. But he didn't. He didn't." I wiped the tears that escaped my eyes and ran on my cheeks then looked up at Alec who looked, for my surprise, sad.

"And that was it," I said announcing the end of my story. "You just seem to have the same eyes as his," I added.

Alec was silent for a couple of minutes and so was I, i was intertwining my fingers together and biting on my bottom lip to keep myself from crying.

"I um, I am sorry for your loss." He broke the silence finally.

"No, no you had nothing to do with it anyway."

"I am sorry though," He said.

"Don't be-"

"Lydia can you please shut up and accept my sincere apology ?" He said and I laughed. He gave me a comforting smile and I felt better.
