Lydia's POV:

"And then Alec punched him in the face so the guy immediately fell down, then Alec took my hand in his and we left," I was telling Wren everything that happened last night while we were having breakfast together in a cafeteria. The excitement was clear in my voice and my smile wouldn't fade.

"Whoa it feels like it's a scene from some movie, you know when the girl is in danger and the guy comes from nowhere and saves her so he's like her knight in shining armor or something." Wren always loved fantasizing about everything that happened, and maybe that's because she spent most of her free time watching movies and series'.

"Well I have to admit that it was awesome," I finally said.

"You know I think it's no coincidence," Wren said. "I mean since the day you met Alec, he has been getting in your way a lot. I think that he's not doing it on purpose and obviously neither you are. I think it's fate always bringing you both back together." She added and she sounded serious.

"And what is that supposed to mean ?"

"You know Lydia, there's a reason behind everything and everyone you meet. Nothing ever "just happens". " she explained.

"Whoa you definitely are watching a lot of movies these days, I swear that sounded like a quote." I said.

"Oh come on at least think about the whole thing," She rolled her eyes.

"Nope, there's absolutely nothing to think about." I said then stood up to leave the table. "Okay I should really get going, I have to meet an important client."

"Who's is it ?" She looked up at me.

"Chris Lightwood," I announced and her eyes went wide.

"Are you kidding me ?"

"Nope,"

"You're working with Alec's dad ? How in hell did that happen ?" She asked surprised.

"Our boss told me that his friend needs a new lawyer to work on one of his cases, and he hired me. It turned out to be Chris Lightwood, and I'm obviously not going to turn it down just because it's Alec's dad." I answered.

She was silent for a while and I expected her to say something, "Well good luck then !" She cheered and that was all what she said.

I left the cafeteria alone since Wren decided to stay there for a little more time to finish some work on her laptop in peace. I climbed in my car, started it and drove to Lightwood Group Holding.

------------

I asked the secretary about where I can find Mr Lightwood, she lead me to his office then left.

I knocked gently on the door which was pure glass and I could see through it both Alec and his dad discussing about something.

"Come in," Mr Lightwood said to me the moment he noticed my presence.

Alec's eyes widened the moment he met my gaze,
"What the hell are you doing here? " he whispered. "Listen if you need something can you leave it for later? I'm kind of busy right now."

"I never said I came for you" I said while looking at his father.

"I see that you both already know each other," His father said while standing up to shake my hand. "Please have a seat." He added. Chris Lightwood looked nothing like Alec, he did have black hair but his eyes were absolute black unlike Alec's blue eyes, his features weren't the same as Alec either.

Alec must've got all his features from his mother.

"Well, father care to explain ?" Alec looked at his dad.
