There was a long akward silence for about five minutes until he finally broke it and said,

"You know, if I find out that I was actually Dylan, I would be devastated. Imagine yourself someday finding out that your whole life is based on a lie." I looked at him and I could see saddness all over his face although he was focusing on the on the road. "I told you that there was always some gap in my life, I always had the feeling that there was something wrong. And if this turns out to be correct, then a lot of things will change. A lot." His tone was threatening which kind of scared me.

Alec did scare me sometimes, he looked like someone who would do whatever crosses his mind without a blink. Especially in such a case, he wouldn't just drop the whole thing just like that.

I stared at him for a long while biting my bottom lip, trying to keep myself from giving my opinion.

"What ?" He looked at me then back at the road.

"What what ?" I looked away.

"You want to say something," Oh so he did notice.

I took a deep breath then said as fast as I could, "If you find out that you're really Dylan then you should talk about it with your parents wisely and undestand the whole situation before you do something you will regret doing," I exhaled after saying all that in less than ten seconds.

There was a long silence and Alec didn't say anything after that, so I just sat there in silence not saying a word.

-----

We have been stuck in the traffic for two hours, we're still five hours away from Yellow Springs and it's already 2pm.
We're obviously reaching Yellow Springs at night and nothing before that.

"There's an accident in the highway, they're saying the traffic will be gone in an hour." Alec said as he climbed back the car, he went to figure out what's causing the traffic.

I groaned then closed my eyes to take some rest, I didn't have much sleep last so it was only a while until I drifted in a peaceful nap.

---

I opened my eyes slowly and noticed that Alec was still driving, he struggled to keep his eyes open and it was obvious that he was too tired.

"Alec," I said fixing my hair.

"You're up," he said and I nodded.

"Listen, this is not gonna work." I said. "Let's stop, find a hotel or something. You and I are both tired as hell. Plus it's 9pm already,"

"No stops."

"Oh come on! We're a whole hour away okay ? You look tired, you've been driving for such a long time, let's just stay in a hotel somewhere here and we'll finish the drive tomorrow morning." I said.

"Okay; okay." He agreed.

"Okay let's ask that woman over there, she must know if there's a hotel nearby." I powinted to an old lady who was sitting alone on a chair in the sidewalk.

"No I'm not going to ask and absolute stranger, she might be a murdurer."

"Then I'll ask her." I said and he stopped the car, I had to lean close to Alec so I could look to the lady and talk to her.
---------------

Alec took in Lydia's scent, she smelled like strawberry. He was lost for a moment as he stared at her bare shoulder, veins ran like connected rivers across her pale skin. She was fair, almost like a porcelain doll, yet she did hold some color.

"Excuse me," Lydia said. "Is there a hotel anywhere close to here?"

The old lady didn't actually look that old. Her hair is jet black and the white skin of her face looks too tight. Her lips have been fattened and her eyelashes are false. What she can't hide is the redistribution of her body fat.
