Lydia and Alec were now in the Mayor's office waiting for him to show up, Lydia was starting to think about the whole situation.

What if Alec is actually Dylan ? Can an accident really change someone's attitude this much ? The whole situation was really overwhelming for her to understand.

"Good morning," The mayor said the moment he entered the office with his cup of coffee in his hands. He first greeted them then sat in his chair, facing both of them.

"So my Secretary told me you want to meet me, but she never told me the reason." He started the conversation.

"Okay so," Alec said putting his hands together, and giving the Mayor a serious look. "You seem to know everything going around in this town right ?" He asked and the Mayor nodded.

"And you've been the Mayor of this town since almost twenty years now right ?"

"Where are you going with this ?" The mayor's tone changed.

"Dylan Williams," Lydia said, she noticed the Mayor's eyes widening the moment the name was mentioned.

"We want the papers that prove that he's dead," She added, confidence clear in her voice.

"And what for exactly ?" The old guy tried to hide his fear, but failed.

"We want to know whether he's really dead, or if some family 'adopted' him." Alec's said his voice calm.

"This is bullshit," The mayor stood up. "I don't know where you got this story from but I can tell you that it's completely wrong, Dylan Williams is dead and everyone knows that." He shouted.

"Okay so you give us the papers that prove his death and shut our mouths," Alec was still sitting down, Lydia never understood how he managed to remain calm this long.

"I have no papers to give, and nothing to add as well. Now if you don't mind get the hell out of my office before I call the police." He struggled to find a breath because of how frightened he was.

"Alec come on," Lydia stood up and gestured for Alec so they leave, she knew they weren't going anywhere with this conversation.

Alec was still sitting down, refusing to stand up. "Alec," Lydia repeated.

"No, no we're not done here." He said. "I'm not leaving before you tell me the whole story," Alec said as he stood up looking at the mayor.

"I have nothing to say," The old man took a step back.

Anger was boiling up in Alec's body, he was considering beating the shit out of the old man until he spills the truth.

He took a step forward but stopped when he felt Lydia's arm around his, he turned and looked at her, "Alec let's leave, please." She begged. "We don't want to cause a scene here, right ? That won't help." She added looking up at him with a small comforting smile on her lips.

Alec took a deep breath then looked between the Mayor and Lydia, he finally groned and walked out of the office as Lydia followed behind him.

----

"You saw how frightened he was the moment Dylan's name was mentioned right ?" Lydia asked.

"I did," Alec nodded as he drove the car. They were heading towards the motel to stay there until they set another plan.

"I still don't get why you just didn't ask your father about the whole thing ? I don't think he'd be able to hide something from you, since you have a proof." Lydia pointed out.

Alec laughed at her remark, "You're right, you don't know my father. If he's hiding something from me since fourteen fucking years, then he'd do everything he can to keep it hidden. If I've told him about this," He waved his hands in the air. "He would've already been done with deleting all the proofs left by the time we got here,"
