"Yeah ?" Alec said rubbing his eyes, probably from sleep."Can we talk inside ?" Lydia asked.
Alec entered his room and Lydia followed behind him after she closed the door.
She watched as Alec walked around the room then sat on the bed, she then grabbed a chair and sat down so she's facing him.
Alec put his head in his hands then looked up at Lydia looking expectantly at her serious expression, "So why did you come here ?"
"Um yeah," She swallowed her saliva. "Okay first of all you have to know that I've done this because I was so scared of your reaction, I know how much this whole thing matters to you and I knew that it wasn't the right place for you to find out. I know I had no right to hide it from you not even for a single minute but I just did what I thought was right at that time and-"
"Lydia Lydia," Alec interrupted her long speech that he didn't manage to understand a word from.
Lydia looked up at him taking a long breath.
"Can you get to the point of this whole thing ?"
She stared at him for a while biting on her bottom lip then finally handed him the papers she had in her hands, he took them and started reading.
"I found them earlier and I don't know why I hid them but I," She stopped talking the moment Alec gestured for her to do so.
Lydia watched as he flipped between the papers he had in his hands, his expression changed from blank to angry. He finally looked up at her with disappointment drawn all over his face.
"I trusted you," He said his coice trembling, Lydia's eyes widened. She wasn't expecting that from him.
"I trusted you," He repeated not moving from his place. "I haven't trusted anyone since a long time but for some fucking stupid reason I trusted you," he took a deep breath. "And what have you done ? You decided to do whatever the fuck you 'thought was right'," Alec stood up and so did Lydia, "Who do you think you are huh ? You're no one but a selfish bitch who only thinks about herself," He shouted as he took few steps towards her, his eyes were narrowing with anger. "You have no right to hide such a thing from me not even for a single second, the thought of hiding it from me shouldn't even cross your mind." He shouted, louder this time.
"I just thought that it wasn't the right-" Lydia started to say, her voice was shaking and it came out more like a whisper until Alec interrupted her.
"The right fucking what! The damn time? The place? God dammit Lydia you have no idea about the fucking mess i've been in for the last couple of hours! I was actually in such a relief that my father did not lie to me for the last twenty fucking years! And I actually thought i can trust you." He screamed. Lydia watched as Alec walked around the room over and over again with his hands behind his neck. He finally walked back to Lydia, she took steps backwards until her back was facing the wall.
"You've been on my fucking way for forever! Imagine how amazing would it be if I actually knew hours ago. Well maybe that's what you do Lydia damn Martin. You just ruin everything" His voice was shaking and there was a lump in his throat. He then stormed out of the room shutting the door violently behind him.
Lydia froze in her place as tears started to run down her cheeks, she was hurt because of what Alec said and she wondered whether he meant it when he said that he trusted her or not.
Regret washed over her like the long slow waves on a shallow beach. Each wave was icy cold and sent shivers down her spine. How she longed to go back and take a different path, but now that was impossible. There was no way back. There was no way to make it right.
