Chapter 25

Sephine's POV

"You.." bungad ni Mandy pagkakitang pagkakita niya palang sa akin pero hindi ako umimik at pinagpatuloy nalang ang panonood kina Charles na naglalaro ng basketball

Nang marinig ko ang pagbugtong hininga niya ay hindi parin ako umimik.

I'm not even surprised to see her here. Halos lahat na ata ng mga pinsan ko'y kinausap ako ngayong araw at kung anong pinagsasabi nila sa akin? Well, they were practically telling me that I'm stupid.

"If you're just going to hurt yourself in the process of avoiding him, it won't make any difference. Actually, it makes everything much worse. Face it head on, Josephine" I gasped harshly just hearing her

"Mandy naman! Paano kung may makarinig sayo?" tanong ko pero agad na siyang nagpamewang

"Duh. It's the Academy Olympics. Buys ang lahat. Tayo lang ang nandito" sagot niya saka siya umupo sa katabi kong upuan

"Now tell me what you feel right now that you're obviously avoiding Charles,"

Kumunot ang noo ko at agad na pumikit.

"I feel horrible" bulong ko

"If you didn't, you would be at the library right now reading books or probably at your room scribbling or singing. Of course you'd feel horrible, you're avoiding Charles and Charles on the other hand, knows it and tries his best to not run on to you too just so you won't feel uncomfortable" hindi ako umimik

"You know what? Kung tungkol lang naman dun sa wallpaper, okay na ang issue na 'yon. Charles actually changed it the day after we arrived from the trip. It's your photo now. I mean it's Sephine's photo now. You happy?" tanong niya kaya naman minulat ko na ang mga mata ko saka ko siya tinignan

"And?" tanong ko dahilan kung bakit niya ako napalo kaya naman napa-aray ako ng napakalakas

"Aray naman, Mandy!"

"And? Ha? Talagang tinanong mo pa? It means that you're so lucky to the point that you became the Campus Heartthrob's phone wallpaper. You have a special place in his heart. Gusto ka niya at gusto mo siya. Ano bang mahirap intindihin dun, Seph?" tanong niya

"It's just.. I can't help but feel guilty every time he looks at me with those sincere and clear eyes. I just can't keep on fooling them right? Pero hindi ko rin alam kung paano sabihin sakanila. Am I bad for being this selfish?" tanong ko pabalik dahilan kung bakit siya tumahimik

"Seph, if this goes on for another day, I'd surely lose my mind. You're my cousin and Charles is one of my closest friends, I love you both and I want you guys to be happy. Can't you just forget about the consequences now and just go with the flow? At alam mo, kung handa ka nang sabihin sakanya ang totoo, we'll all be here for you, to support you. You don't have to rush, you know" sabi niya after ng ilang minutong katahimikan kaya naman napaisip na ako

"Ano pang mukhang ipapakita ko sakanya? Iniwasan ko siya tapos bigla nalang papansin? Ugh. I can't do it. Why do I keep on making mistakes?" tanong ko saka ko sinabunutan ang buhok kong magi

"How about you start by giving him refreshments?" tanong ni Mandy kaya naman tinignan ko siya

"Uhh"

Hindi ako nakapagsalita. Nang ngitian niya ako ay agad na akong huminahon.

"He likes.. pineapple juice," mahina kong sagot kaya naman natawa na siya saka ako niyakap

"Thanks, Seph. I'm sure he'll be happy" sagot niya saka kumalas at hinila na ako palabas ng room

Ed's POV

Nanatili lang akong nakatago sa kabilang room at nang marinig kong malayo layo na ang mga footsteps at mga boses nila ay hindi parin ako lumabas.

It's better safe than sorry.

"I knew it," bulong ko sa sarili ko

"Seph, if this goes on for another day, I'd surely lose my mind. You're my cousin and Charles is one of my closest friends, I love you both and I want you guys to be happy. Fooling them? That's us, right?

It actually makes sense. Why didn't I think of that before?

Hinawakan ko na ang phone ko saka nag-search ng picture ni Josephine. Hindi ako nakapagsalita nang makita ko ulit ang napakaganda niyang mukha.

Well, she is after all the muse of the Falcons. Poised, prim and very very very proper. Looking at the heiress and comparing her to the nerdy Sephine Cruz, no one would really think of comparing them.

Josephine has blue eyes, whereas, Sephine has black and is also wearing glasses. Hmm. Siguro nagba-black contacts siya at sumusuot lang ng plain fashion glasses.

She has freckles but I guess faking it is also possible, huh? I mean, it's the Falcon empire. She must have unlimited resources that could make it possible to fake her freckles.

Josephine also has brown curly hair na hanggang bewang niya ang haba, whereas, Sephine has pure black na noodle-like hair na hanggang dibdib niya.

She probably dyed it black. And maybe because of the noodle-curls, the length got lesser. Or maybe she's using a wig. Hah? Is that why I haven't seen her swim and why she's very afraid of the rain? Because it could ruin her disguise?

Their faces, body, height, talents and not to mention her closeness with the cousins and her ability to have friends who are at the same caliber as her..

It all makes sense!

Pero she can't tell it even if she wants to huh? Hmm. Now.. should I start planning?
