NOPI Chapter 77: The Falcon Estate
Sephine's POV
Hindi nagtagal ay sinalubong ako ng napakalaking gate ng Falcon Estate.
When the guard saw that the car has the seal of a Falcon property and the driver saluting to him, the gates were opened to let us through and the car drove inside through the long path.
On the way to the mansion, nadaanan namin 'yung mga na-trimmed na mga grasses, garden of roses, sunflowers and a pond full of lilies.
It's been months since I came home and the changes were quite obvious. Mom probably beautified it even more because she was bored or too annoyed at dad about sending me to Royal Academy as an exchange student.
"Young miss, nandito na po tayo" pagkarinig ko palang non ay agad na akong nagmadaling lumabas ng kotse't napatitig sa mansyong nasa harapan ko't hindi na hinintay si Kuya John saka nagmadaling tumakbo papunta sa loob
"Young miss!" gulat na sabi ng Head Maid – Nanny Sally nang makita niya akong tumatakbo takbo sa sala
"Where's mom? Master's bedroom? Clinic?" tuloy tuloy kong tanong
"Tss. Where are your manners? It's not proper for a lady to run around in the mansion" sinundan ko ang pinanggalingan ng boses
Kuya Joshua.
"Kuya!" sigaw ko't agad na tumakbo papunta sakanya
He laughed and welcomed me with open arms so I just embraced him with no intention of letting go immediately.
"There's no need for you to hurry. The doctors said mom is in stable state now, but we will have to wait for her to wake up, so let's not stand in her way of getting some needed rest" napatingin naman ako sa pinanggalingan ng boses – the most handsome man on the house – my dad
Kumalas na ako kay Kuya Joshua at agad na niyakap si Dad.
"Dad, I missed you," hinalikan niya naman ako kaagad sa noo ko
"I missed you too, my little princess" sagot niya kaya naman kumalas na akong nakakunot ang noo at sinamaan siya ng tingin
"I'm not little anymore," dahilan kung bakit siya natawa
"Sabagay, you have received more than 10 marriage proposals from prestigious families all over the country, so should I call you big now?" tanong niya kaya naman hindi nawala ang kunot ng noo ko
"I heard we received one from the Begley Family. That's where your boyfriend's from, right?" tanong ni dad kaya naman napanganga na ako kaagad
Narinig ko naman ang tawa ni kuya Joshua kaya naman tinignan ko rin siya.
I can't believe it.
"H-how.."
"Oh, was I wrong? Is he still a suitor?" tanong ni dad
I blushed and immediately pursed my lips.
"Mm," acknowledging his question which was why he smiled and ruffled my hair
"My little princess is going to become someone else's queen now. How is he? Is he treating you right?" tanong niya saka niya ako dinala papunta sa sala kaya naman sumunod nalang ako
I can't imagine na alam pala nila. Well, if dad wants to know, he has more than a million ways to know it. After all, every businessman has his own resources and ways of investigating.
Was I guarded secretly perhaps?
Anyways, nakakahiyang pag usapan ang mga ganitong bagay kapag ang pamilya mo ang sa kabilang dulo ng conversation.
"He's very considerate of me," sagot ko dahilan kung bakit siya tumango
"Then he's just the right person for you. I believe your mom has already given you advices on how to pick the right people you try to get close to, right?" tanong niya kaya naman ako na ang tumango
"Choose those who are considerate of others" sagot ko
"Do you like him?" tanong ni Kuya Josh kaya naman nag-blush ako ulit saka siya tinapunan ng unan
"Whoah! When girls react violently on questions about love, they're... they are... you know!" nagtaka naman ako dahil hindi matuloy tuloy ni kuya yung gusto niyang sabihin dahil tila ba'y nakalimutan niya ako 'yung word
"What? You know what?" tanong ko't bigla naman siyang napapalakpak dahil mukhang natandaan niya na 'yung salitang pinaghirapan niyang isipin
"Kinikilig!" nag-blush ako ulit at agad nang tumayo
"I'm going to my room!" sigaw ko't tumakbo na papunta sa kwarto ko
Stupid brother!
"Oh my god," huminga na ako ng malalim saka pumunta sa walk in closet ko't humarap sa salamin
I took my glasses, braces and huge clothes off and stared at my reflection.
"I heard we received one from the Begley Family. That's where your boyfriend's from, right?"
Napalanghap ako ng hangin at agad na napahawak sa dibdib ko.
Could it be that Charles found out about my secret?
That's not possible. We just fought just now. The proposal must have been sent to dad for quite a while now.
Hindi kaya.. galing sa parents niya?

It was already evening when dad woke me up because mom called for me. I went for a quick shower, dressed up and went to where mom is.
"Were you very worried?" nag pout na ako kaagad
"Do you think I'll celebrate finding out that my mom fainted and was in need of a doctor?" tanong ko kaya naman natawa siya't agad akong niyakap
"I missed you, my princess"
"I missed you too mom,"
"Why don't you tell me all about everything you've been experiencing there?" tanong niya kaya naman tumango na ako't umupo na sa kama niya without trying to bump into the materials connected to her body and the machine beside the lamp shade
I spent the three hours in the master's bedroom chatting, telling stories and laughing with my mom. It's only been months yet it feels like it was just years without her.
"So do you like this Charles that much that you feel so conflicted that you even started hating your other self?" tanong niya kaya naman hindi ako umimik
She chuckled and tucked a stray of my hair behind my ear.
"Whatever the problem, whoever the source and whenever it happens to you, you should not hate yourself," dagdag niya kaya naman hinawakan ko na ang kamay niya
"Should I tell him?" tanong ko at umuling naman siya
"If you're forcing yourself to, then no. For you would only remain as you are now - flustered and anxious. Only tell him when you are ready, for you won't have any regrets made," sagot niya kaya naman natahimik ako ulit
"If you think he's forcing you, don't hate him. I believe from the stories you've been telling me that he's been very considerate and careful of handling you already. Sa isang relationship darling, tandaan mo na sa isang away o hindi pagkakaintindihan, it's not you versus him, it's you and him versus the issue. So bago pa man kayo magkalayuan ng loob, you should patch things up before it's too late" dagdag niya kaya naman napangiti na ako
"I will, mom. Thanks," sagot ko't agad na siyang niyakap
