Tony had been ecstatic to have a bullet wound. Sometimes, I worried about his mental wellbeing beyond the Asperger’s. Everyone wanted to see it when he returned to school and he relished in the attention, much to Monique’s annoyance.

One thing that showed he changed though is Monique and him went public about their relationship and he made it clear that he loved her. I think the experience affected him more than he let on, but he was recovering well.

Tony did have minor physical therapy to go through and forced Jon and me to be his cheerleaders, though it was just his shoulder. All he had was strength and weight training to do to buff it up again. He didn’t like Monique being there because the therapy did stress him out and put him in a foul mood most the day.

“Suck it up brother,” Jon called out to him today. He was having a more difficult time right now.

“Shut up,” Tony snapped back. He was straining to breathe properly. I just giggled as Jon leaned back in his seat putting an arm around me.

“Ten bucks says he gets a random cramp at twenty five reps,” Jon murmurs to me.

“Twenty,” I counter. We smile at each other and shake hands on it. It was the last thirty minutes of his physical therapy today and he always started to say he had a cram around the end of his session.

We watched as he started the reps on his shoulder and we counted together.

“Twenty one.”

“Twenty two.”

“Man, I think I’m getting a cramp” Tony said cringing.

“He made it past twenty,” Jon murmured.

“But not to twenty five,” I smirked at Jon.

“Split?”

“Yep.” He kisses me holding my chin gently; the heat rises in my chest and sets fire to my skin all over.

“Okay you two stop god,” Tony barked over at us.

“Oh hurry up cramp boy.”

“How much longer?”

“Ten minutes,” his trainer spoke up. He seemed to be annoyed with Tony’s antics as usual.

“So are you ready for the big presentation tomorrow?” Jon asked me.

Ah, yes, our astronomy project. Our first week back to school, after Christmas break and a month and a half since my abduction and it was finally time for the projects final. I couldn’t believe we were finally done with all the work.

“Yep I am,” I smiled at him.

Levi was true to his word and the case was not going to trial. He confessed guilty to kidnapping assault and attempted rape. Sentencing was scheduled for a few weeks from today. Of course we all had to be interviewed regardless for the case and evidence.

Because of Levi’s ease of cooperating his sentence would be reduced and from a statement I made in my interview to give him a chance. I know he didn’t deserve it, but I felt everyone deserves a chance to change and fix their life.

I even thought I might visit him after my eighteenth birthday, but that’s a topic for later discussion. No one likes the fact that me, of all people pleaded for him to be shown mercy even Levi himself. Even after all he did to me, which wasn’t as much as his father, he was a lost soul being manipulated by someone who should have cared for him and instead took advantage of him. Oddly, my grandfather seemed to approve of my choice.

Shannon went back to school a few weeks ago. Once Tony was home and healthy and working on rebuilding his shoulder she decided to go back. She wanted to make sure her little brother was fine, he literally had to push her out the door.
