The Purged Ones

Chapter 2: The second evil

“Deeeeevvvvvaaaa” Angel yelled out. I wonder what he wanted for him to call my name is such manner. He walked towards me and gave me a high five.

“I haven’t realized that the Purging was only a few weeks ahead and I have to say, we have to spend the little time we have together before it.” I have to agree and so I nodded my head in agreement. We have not been spending time because of all of our classes in Layevan Academy. The classes were exalting, especially when we had to learn to use different weapons such as knives, guns, blunt weapons, bows, cross bows, and even our fists. Here in the city of Purge Souls, we were all killers. Ever since The Final Ceremony, we were force to dwell in darkness. We were force to commit deadly sins. Yet, we have no chance to seek salvation, hope, faith or even the light.

“What do you have in mind then, Angel?” I asked. Angel then dragged me to the spot where a blimp was hovering over the blue sky.

“Attention Layevan Academy‘s students…I, Lady Fiora, will have a mandatory test later today at dawn. Please report to the park at 5 pm.” Lady Fiora was the second leader of Purge Souls and yet she seems more loose then Lady Saya. Once I saw her bugged Lady Eve so much that they had a fight. The fight was intense because Lady Eve had her favorite katana with her. Lady Eve has swung at her, but Lady Fiora, loose as always, dodged it with her unique acrobatic body. 

“Ha-ha, I hope it happens again.” Angel said with a smile on his face.

“But still, Lady Eve is not the person someone should be messing with. I mean she is a samurai and all, but still…” I said as I stare at the sky.

“I know, Lady Eve always walk around in a kimono with a big opening around her chest.” Angel directs his eyes towards his hands.

“And with bandages covering her breast” I said as I look at Angel. Angel had the look in his eyes that always bugs me.

“Pervert!” I yelled as I smack him behind his head.

“I did not even say anything.” Angel yelled back. I have to admit, I laugh every time I hit him as a mother would do a toddler’s hand.

“Don’t need to. I can tell what you were thinking when I mention her breast…perv.” I giggled a bit.

“Still, she has a scar that is peeking out from the bandages” Angel begins to scratch his head. I did realized Lady Eve had a scar on her chest every time she passes by. Could be from a fight from Lady Fiora, but would Lady Fiora cut her down deep?

“Could be from Lady Fiora…” Angel started to nod and after, a deep breath.

I started to look around at the night sky and started to stretch my hands on the sky. I felt the cold wind pass by me which gave me chills. This city looks as beautiful with the building blooming tall as the blossoms that surrounds this city. When did everything go wrong? These blossoms and the pretty and tall buildings are outer shell of the city that is meant to attract people. In reality, within the shell, are the souls that have forsaken this once beautiful city we use to call Delaxy. Delaxy was once our city before the name Purge Souls. So clean, so beautiful the city was when I was little.

 I did not remember much because the memories were blurry or gone. My memories shattered when I gain my eye that is all but whiteness in my eye. I do remember when I was little that others would make fun of me because I looked different. Every girl would push me away from everything they do. I wanted to join them because I used to be a girly-girl, but since then I hated all of my classmates. Most of them were girls with pretty hazel eyes, blue eyes, or anything else that appeared to look pretty. The boys were the ones afraid of me because they thought I was some kind of ghost that haunts them in their dreams. There were two boys that were not afraid of me. Both loved my white eye because it was “cool” to them.
