I was about to go near nandini when "manikkkkkk" ahhh....I so hate you soha! The great soha pounced upon me like a hungry lioness. Actually no, why should I insult the lioness by comparing her with soha!? Manik what are you thinking? You are going off track....remember you have a girlfriend? Fake girlfriend! My ever so ready brain commented. Fine Mr! Fake girlfriend... Happy now!? I huffed in annoyance. Ya so what was I saying? Ummm ya my 'fake' girlfriend aka my best friend would be 100% fuming right now so manik malhotra you need to stay away from soha who is going all clingy over you. "Baby I missed you so much....acha no problem as you are my date so now we'll be together throughout the party so you'll be able to make it up for me" she said in her high pitched voice which trust me is not at all pleasant to your ears and on top of it she said each and every word eyeing nandu which is only going to worsen my situation. Nandu ke aiyyappa bachalo mujhe!! "Woah woah soha hang on there....if you have forgotten I have a very beautiful girlfriend right beside me..." I said side hugging nandini and continued "....then why should someone else or rather you in this case be my date?" "Oh please manik don't tell me you are still with her. I mean just look at her...she..." "Soha! Not. a .word and I hope I don't have to repeat myself" I said fuming with anger and she stopped instantly and left not able to bare her insult any further. Good.

All the couples were now swaying to the beats of the slow music on the dance floor while I was in a dilemma whether to ask nandu or not. I finally mustered up courage and went up to her. "May I have this dance with you?" I asked bowing down in front of her whilst offering my hand to her like a perfect gentleman does. She was really pissed by whatever soha did, her eyes were spitting fire. Only I,nandini,dhruv and alia were standing aside now and I was praying for her to say a yes. She was about to decline my offer and walk away when alia spoke "ya nandini you should go. Even I and dhruv will join you guys right baby?" "Yes nandini....show your sexy moves on the dance floor and set it on fire. I'm telling you, you'll enjoy a lot there" "OK" she accepted my hand and we moved towards the dance floor where the other couples were. Thanks buddy, thanks Alia. I noticed cabir and navya who were busy in anything but dancing where cabir was cracking his silly jokes for sure and Ms. Madhubala was giggling. Cabir said something which made her blush. I definitely have to have a talk with cabir, I thought smirking to myself. Then there was mukti and Abhi. They were lost in their own world, dancing with each other. Dhruv and alia were also dancing by now. I turned towards nandini and put her one hand on my shoulder and entwined her other hand with mine.

The song began...our eyes locked.
