Fab 5 jam room

Dhruv: buddy cheer up. Soch agar nandini ne tujhe aise dekha to use kitna bura lagega

Cabir: ha manik....topiwala...uh I mean dhruv....dhruv is right. Dekh khud ko pura devdas ban gaya hai tu

It had been 20 minutes since cabir and dhruv were trying to cheer up manik but all in vain. Manik was sifting there silently with a blank expression on his face. He was sitting there holding his guitar and staring at the floor as if it was the most interesting thing to stare at when a voice jerked him out of his so called 'floor staring' session.

Voice *angrily*: devdas huh! Agar ye nandu se itna pyaar karta na to rokta vo us din mukti ko, nandu ke liye stand leta na ki chup chap khade khade tamasha dekhta

Cabir: are madhubala ji aap bina baat ko jane kaise kuch bhi bol sakti hai huh?

Navya: cabir please! Manik apne aap ko nandu ka best friend kehta hai na!? Boyfriend hai na vo uska!? Pyaar karta hai na usse!? To tab kaha tha uska pyaar jab nandu ko uski zarurat thi?.....tab kaha thi vo dosti? Batao hume!

Navya spoke angrily which did nothing but drowned manik even more in his pool of guilt. Cabin who was till now listening to all this calmly went towards navya and held her arms tightly making her wince in pain.

Cabir: tumhe bata bhi hai ki tum kya bakwaas bole ja rahi ho. Manik se acha friend to kisi ko mil hi nahi sakta hai. Agar manik ne mukti ko na chuna hota aur agar usne nandini ki baat na mani hoti na to aaj mukti ki halat vaisi hi ho jati jaisi do saal pehle thi

He said fuming with anger and jerking her off leaving a very shocked navya behind.

Navya: do saal pehle? Nandini ki baat? Ye tum kya bol rahe ho cabir?

Navya asked all confused. She did not even understand a bit of what cabir had just spoken.

Cabir: Navya mukti ke ex boyfriend ne use cheat kiya tha ( sigh) .....janti ho vo kaun tha?

She nodded her head in a no.

Cabir: harshad....harshad saxena, Alia ka Bhai

Navya: kyaaaaa!?!?

Navya was hell shocked and was staring at cabir wide eyed.

Cabir: ha harshad! He cheated on mukti jiske vajah se mukti depression me chali gayi, anti depressant pills lene lagi aur.....(he stuttered)

Navya: aur?

Cabir: she.....she even attempted to suicide

Navya could say nothing, she couldn't find any word. She was beyond shocked right now. She just kept mum and let cabir continue further.

Cabir: we tried every possible way to get her out of her darkness but we just couldn't. She had shut us all out. No one from us could see the ever so strong mukti in such a vulnerable state and so one day manik decided to talk with her. He always had a way of words when it came to fab 5 and mukti could not ignore him as for her he was her brother in front of whom she could let her guards down. Yeah...I was and I still am mukti's evil twin but I always let manik be that sensible and overprotective brother in her life. Since childhood mukti had always craved for love, her parents never had time for her. They were way too busy with their own bloody lives that they had forgotten that they also had a daughter back home who was craving for their love but she never got it. Then fab 5 happened (grinning widely). We all met each other in school ten years ago and soon became real thick friends, we even created our band....fab 5. Manik was its leader, and why not.....after all he was the one who created fab 5. Mukti got a new family, a family who always had her back, who loved her as much as she loved them but somewhere she was still insecure and possessive especially for manik because she knew whatever she did right or wrong.....manik was always there to protect her but when nandini came she thought that manik was moving away from her, she thought that nandini was snatching away manik, she was breaking fab 5 which sent jitters down her spine and increased her insecurities. She wasn't able to trust nandini and that's how we landed in this mess. It was nandini who literally forced manik to choose mukti on her as she knew that mukti needed manik the most. Manik has never intended to betray her, he could never even  think of doing so.

Navya was feeling guilty of accusing manik now. She wanted to apologize but words were not coming out of her mouth, her vocals were ditching her. She finally swallowed the lump that had formed in her throat and walked towards manik.

Navya: manik

Manik was till now looking down when cabir was acting all stubborn and was determined in putting some brain in navya's head. When navya called him so softly he was caught off guard for a few seconds but the shot his head towards her. Navya instantly felt guilty seeing his hurt face and pained eyes that were always shining when he was with nandini. Nandini.....navya missed her so much, she was dying to talk to her buy she even respected her space and hence did not contact her. She so wished that nandini was here at the moment to calm manik down and to make him smile but alas! She wasn't there.

Navya: manik I'm....I'm really sorry. I know I was being a bitch to you but I couldn't help it, after all it was the matter of my best friend. I'm really sorry manik for being so rude to you....I'm sorry

Manik: it's OK navya.....I'm fine

He said with a faint smile and navya heaved a sigh of relief knowing that her soulie, nandu was safe with manik.

The day had passed but yet there was no change in manik's behaviour, he was still sad. He had not even for once smiled to his fullest the whole day and mukti.....well! She as usual was cursing nandini for having made manik so vulnerable, it was as if she had decided that whatever problems fab 5 face was always because of her. Her anger level increased all the more now and she had silently promised herself that she would never forgive nandini, come what may. Her insecurities were taking over her mind subsiding the tiny voice in her heart that was telling her that she was at fault and not nandini but yet she chose bit to pay heed. The same was with mukti too.
