Author's Note: Before you read the part, I used an idea from Season 7 of The Vampire Diaries for this story line. Enjoy.

That evening the three were realised, I was in my bedroom at the compound when Rebekah came in and said she was leaving New Orleans. We hugged and said our farewells, and I made her promise to come back for the wedding because I needed my maid of honour. She agreed.
It was the next day now and Elijah had organised a party at the compound to bring together the humans, vampires, witches and werewolves. He was trying to create a peace treaty between all four factions so that they could all get along in the French Quarter. It was a nice idea. If it could work.
I stood in the bedroom and looked at myself in the mirror. Elijah appeared behind me in it, looking as handsome as usual. "You look wonderful," He smiled at me as he wrapped his arms around my waist, and looking at us both in the mirror.
"Soon this will be us on our wedding day," I smiled at him and he grinned back.
"I can't wait," He kissed me softly, before taking my hand, "Let's go and see to our guests."
"And hopefully no fights tonight," I sighed as I followed him.
"Those are the rules," He said.
"Doesn't mean that they'll be kept," I reminded him, thinking of the werewolf and vampire, and the witch and vampire frictions that have been building for years. Especially the werewolves and vampires, because they've always hated each other.
Elijah went around giving warnings to each faction of the treaty whilst I watched on from the side lines. I glanced up at the balcony and saw Klaus hurrying somewhere, I followed his eye line and saw Jackson walking up into a room. "Damn it," I cursed and hurried after them both.
When I reached the room I stopped to listen to what was going on inside, "You want to make me into a hybrid," Jackson said, sounding annoyed, "I put my pack first, and I will not jeopardise its future by becoming a blood thirsty parasite."
Ouch.
"That sense of pride," Klaus said, his voice angry, "Well that's exactly why I haven't snapped your neck yet."
"What do you want?" Jackson asked.
"Only to give you back the city that was taken from you," Klaus said, sounding smug.
"Why would I want to trust someone who is plotting behind their brothers back?" Jackson pointed out. He had a fair point there, why was Klaus doing this behind Elijah's back? Oh yes, because he's Klaus.
"I'm not undermining him, I'm supporting his vision. Vampires destroy lives to stay alive, witches are only as powerful as their dead, but werewolves have thrived because their strength comes from the unity of family. And that strength is what I want for my child," Klaus explained, "The painful truth is vampires are the antithesis of unity."
"So what? After a thousand years you're finally ready to embrace the other half of your family? What if the other half doesn't want you?" Jackson was treading on thin ice. Klaus could snap at any moment if he carried on pushing. But there was something I really admired about Jackson for that reason.
"Oh, they will, once they return to the Quarter," Klaus sounded as cocky as ever, maybe he wasn't going to kill Jackson after all.
"You got a plan to back that up?" Jackson asked. I felt bad eavesdropping, but this was important. I needed to tell Elijah.
"My mother was a powerful witch, I watched her craft all manor of magical items but her most priced possession was this ring," Klaus explained his grand plan, "I hadn't seen it for a thousand years, but then it turned up hanging around the neck of a werewolf. A direct descendant of my biological father. I believe she gave him this ring as a way of freeing him."
