"No Damon, you rest, I'll call Elijah and see if I can find anything out," I said, pushing my brother back down on the bed. Katherine had just left and he was insisting on going out to find Stefan now, despite being in recovery for a werewolf bite. "You almost died Damon, just let me do this. You can help in the morning, okay?"

"Okay, Becs," He sighed and laid back on the bed, closing his eyes.

I walked out of the room and dialled Elijah's number. It rang a few times before going to voicemail, "Elijah I need you to call me back as soon as you get this, it's really important."

I sighed and hung up the phone, a nervous feeling fluttering in my stomach. Why hasn't he answered? He would never let Klaus take Stefan, so what had happened to him? Another idea struck me on how to track Stefan if he had become a ripper again and I grabbed my leather jacket before heading out of the door, despite it being past midnight.

I went straight to the police station, knowing she's still be there. I walked in, ignoring all of the other officers and went straight into her office. She was sat behind her desk as I had expected and when she saw me she shot out of her seat with her gun raised. "Now now, Liz, let's not have another casualty tonight."

"Jeremy's alive," Liz glared at me.

"Good," I nodded knowing Caroline or Bonnie must have had something to do with it. "But that's not why I am here, I need you help Sheriff."

"And why would I help you?" She spat, looking positively repulsed.

"Because you'll be saving a lot of people's lives if you do," I said stepping forward, "I'm not going to hurt you, but please just put the gun down and hear me out."

Liz hesitated before she out the gun down and gestured for me to sit in the chair opposite her. "Thank you," I smiled gratefully and sat down. "I can't explain everything to you, because you would just get confused but the bottom line is that Stefan has turned into a blood-thirsty monster and has gone on a killing spree."

"Wasn't he that already?" Liz shot me a disgusted look, meaning that all vampires were blood-thirsty monsters.

"No, Stefan can't handle drinking human blood else he turns into a ripper, which is what you assume all vampires are. So he has been on an animal blood diet for years now, but recently he's been drinking a little bit of human blood to make himself stronger - which is from blood bags we steal from hospitals and not from living people," I rolled my eyes as she gave me a sharp look when I said 'human blood'.

"So he can't handle... Human blood, and now he's killing everyone?" She asked, skipping ahead.

"Sort of, someone has forced him to drink loads of human blood and turn his humanity off," I explained but she sent me a confused look when I mentioned turning his humanity off. "As a vampire you can choose to have your humanity on or off, sort of like a switch in your brain. If you have it on all of your emotions are heightened and it can be very hard, so the easy option is turning your humanity off and then you don't care about anything or anyone - all you want to do is kill. Stefan has been forced into this, by trying to save his brothers life."

"So what do you want me to do about it?" Liz asked quietly, obviously this was a lot to take in for her.

"I just want you to keep me updated on any mysterious animal attacks, so that I can hopefully follow these attacks and find Stefan before he goes too far," I said before grabbing a pen and piece of paper from her desk. "Here is my number, call me when you have any information and I will take it from there. If you want to stake me through the heart then fine, but all I ask is that you do it after I find Stefan and switch his humanity back on. I will gladly walk myself into your office and let you stake me after that."
