Chapter 4

I walked with Kyle in mostly silence. The faint breeze of the air ruffling Kyle's hair. We made odd comments and short talk, but that was it.

When he stopped outside a white house he waved goodbye.

"See 'ya later beautiful." He said, smiling cheekily. I rolled my eyes and walked up the road without another word. I heard Kyle laugh in the distance until it finally faded away. I stopped at my boring brick house and unlocked the white door. I walked into the living room and into the cupboard to dump my bags. After that I ran up the stairs and into my tidy room. I sat on my bed and marveled at my painting. It look so... amazing.

I need to go into the forest again. I need to see my wolf. I quickly changed into a tank top and some jogging bottoms and headed out of my room and into the direction of my kitchen. I unlocked the back door and out into the garden, which lead to the woods.

I started jogging at first and then stopped once I was deeper into the woods. I walked cautiously deeper into the woods, a breeze picking up as I walked.

I stopped when I thought I was deep enough in the woods and sat down on a near by log. I waited... I just waited for my wolf to appear.

minutes went by. Minutes turned into hours. I was just about to get up and leave when I heard a twig snap. My eyes widened as I saw him. The magnificent black wolf I had seen in my dreams, painting and a few days ago. I stood up slowly, waiting for it to growl at me. When he didn't I smiled. I slowly lifted up my hand and very slowly walked towards him. He flinched back slightly but stayed firm as my hand made contact with his fur.

The thickness of his fur made it feel soft. the softenest thing I had ever layed my finger tips on. He let out a low growl and I quickly pulled my hand away, a little frightened. I looked into his gorgeous brown eyes and found myself lost in them. They were full of authority... but somewhere I could see a young lost boy, full of joy and happiness.

He backed away quickly after a moment of sharing gazes and he ran away into the tree's, as if he didn't even exist... I sighed and walked back into the direction of my house. The wolf's eyes remained in my brain as I walked away.

When I finaly arrived at home my dad was sitting on the couch, watching TV.

"Hey, where'd you get to?" He asked curiously.

"Just had a walk in the woods." I said with a shrug and went into the direction of my bedroom.

"Your brother is coming home tomorrow!" My dad called up after me. I stopped dead in my tracks and nearly squealed.

"He is!?" I asked loudly, jumping off of the stairs and infront of my dad.

"Yep! I need you to make sure the house is tidy and clear the bed in the guest room for me?" He asked rhetorically. My brother lives ages away with his girlfriend and visits a few times a year. He looks a lot like me but he has blond hair, like my mum and dad. I'm like the weird ginger in the family. Only one of my ancestors had ginger hair and it looks like I took after them.

"Go on then, tidy the room. Please." My dad asked again impatiently.

I ran up the stairs and into the room next to mine. There was stuff cluttered all over the blue bed and the drawers were full of rubbish. I rolled my eyes and picked up all the stuff and put it into the little cupboard in the corner of the room.

I rubbed my hands together as I looked at the now tidy room. A blue duvet blanketed the bed with two white pillows. Baby blue walls enclosed the room, along with a fluffy blue carpet. I smiled at my achievement and went back into my own bedroom.

"Dinner will be five minutes!" My dad called up the stairs. I sat on my bed and pulled out my private sketch book from under my pillow. I turned to a blank page and pulled a sketch pencil out of my spray painted cup. I put the pencil to my lip as I thought of what I could draw. The wolf came into my mind again so I started to draw the wolf's large and powerful black head. The fur's texture was defined by shading and it's eyes were darkened by the thickness of my pencil.

After about five minutes I looked at my drawing. I drew the wolf's head and his eyes staring into mine. I truly felt like it was there and he was looking at me again. I smiled proudly at my work and nearly jumped out of my skin when my dad called up to me, letting me know that dinner was ready.

I slipped my sketch pad under my pillow and returned my pencil back into the cup and ran out of my room, down the stairs and into the dining room. Two plates of pasta sat in front of the chairs. I took my seat and dug in as my dad took his seat.

After the most delicious plate of pasta I had ever tasted, I walked up to my room. I stripped and changed into my pyjamas, the softness of the fabric warmed up my skin, even though the temperature was pretty high. I snuggled down into my bed and fell asleep...

I woke up to a wet nose on my face. My eyes snapped open and I saw a giant black wolf. I crawled back quickly and the wolf's head snapped up, his eyes glinted with curiosity. I looked around me to see I was back in the woods. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion but kept my eyes on the magnificent beast.

He circled around me, keeping his beautiful brown eyes on me. He left giant paw prints in the mud, which looked like they could will a deep puddle. I felt thge wolf sniff the back of my head, ruffling my hair and tickling my neck. I giggled and he flinched at the sudden noise. I stiffened as he leaped over me and ran into the distance...
