Genna's dreams came and went that night. They were easily defined as nightmares containing glimpses of a woman calling her name, hunting her. She was ten feet tall with malicious thoughts of killing and torturing Genna. Others tried to help her, but no one could get through the invisible force field that surrounded them. The evil witch was shaking her roughly, and calling her name.
"Genna wake up!" Seth shook her. "We have to move on." he got up and reached for his pack.
"Where are we going exactly?" Genna got up and swung her purple backpack over her shoulder. Sage, Chelsea and Seth were all on foot while Charlie, Lucy and Calvin were sitting on the ground.
They all left early before park security could find them, and started on their way to the safe house. Sage guided the way strolling hand in hand with Chelsea. They were best friends who did everything today and had known each other since they were little. Charlie and Lucy paced behind them bringing up the rear. They laughed and talked while Seth and Calvin bickered the entire time about the stupidest things.
Genna wanted to go and speak to Sage about her dream, but she still was unsure of her. Until they give her real proof of the Greek gods she will not believe them. Although Genna did not like the hostile girl she knew she had to tell her incase she was truly in any danger. She ran up to Sage, "I had a dream last night, a nightmare to be exact. There was this woman and she was trying to find me, and once she found me she was going to kill me." Genna looked for guidance.
"It could have been a warning from the gods. Every once in awhile they will give you glimpses into the future to help you," Sage knowledgeably said.
"Oh, o.k. So this is supposed to help me?" Genna was a little confused. How could a vision of this mad women killing her help her?
"Well not exactly. It also might just be a dream. You never know with the gods." Chelsea reassured her.
Genna nodded because she was too scared to say much. Chelsea then begged Sage to tell Genna the story of how they all met, and Genna in fact wanted to hear it. Chelsea really wanted Genna to realize that they were not bad people.
"Fine. I was nine when I decided to run away. My father was falling apart because I reminded him too much of my mom, so I decided to rough it on my own. It was hard, with monsters following everywhere because of my demigod scent. When I was in Michigan, I found a scared little girl whose mother didn't want her because she was strange," Sage hugged Chelsea," so I took her with me, and she became quite a good friend. We traveled together for days trying to find someplace where we could get weapons for killing monster, but it was hard to find anything that isn't too expensive. After a month or so together we found the safe house, where we are heading now. We never really met up with Charlie, Seth, or Lucy before the safe house. They found each other and the house on their own. When we met each other at the safe house Chelsea easily made friends with Lucy, Charlie, and Seth.
“Why did you guys leave the safe house?” Genna was interested in knowing.
“There were other things on our minds.” Sage replied evasively.
Genna didn’t have to reply to know that she rubbed Sage the wrong way.
“Where is the safe house located exactly?”
Lucy entered the conversation, “Maine, close to the Canadian boarder.”
“Why that far up?” Genna was flabbergasted.
“Because there are not many people up there, so we can test our powers.” Lucy gave a devious smile.
Lucy reached for her flute. When she could feel that it was still securely in her belt she relaxed a little bit. Genna thought it strange that such a thing as a flute would give her so much comfort. Lucy asked Sage if they could get food soon. When she said yes she went back to Charlie to continue their conversations.
“Why does she like that flute so much. She treats it like a deadliest weapon.” Genna made sure Lucy couldn’t hear her.
“Her dad gave it to her,” Chelsea said.
“Hades?”
“Yes, she said it can do two deadly things that she must not speak of, but we think she’s fibbing.” Sage said.
“So she has met her dad? Do all demigods get to meet their parent!” Genna felt a new wave of hope.
They stopped by a strawberry patch and they each picked a few to eat. Genna put one in her mouth, but then felt sick so she spit it out.
“Why don’t you like strawberries?” Seth looked at her in confusion.
“I don’t know, but I’m not eating anything else.” Genna said in jurisdiction. With that she put down her backpack and laid down on the ground falling into a stupor.
