“Chelsea! I can’t believe it’s you!” A small orange haired girl elatedly shouted waking the seven up.
“Lauren!” Chelsea got up and hugged her. “Why are you so surprised to see me?”
“Well, when you left we saw a hydra the day after you left, and we all assumed you were dead. It was two years ago that you left.” Lauren than focused on an image behind Chelsea. “Who are you?”
Chelsea turned around confusedly than understood immediately, “Lauren, this is Genna. Genna, this I my half-sister Lauren.”
She stepped forward and shook hands with Genna, “Please to meet you!” she said eagerly. Genna shyly nodded back. Sage turned around and walked to the bathroom.
“Can you control water like Chelsea?” Genna asked curiously.
“Yes, but not as good as her, I can’t form it either.” Lauren sighed.
Genna smiled and thought to herself. Why could she control water even though Lauren, a daughter of the sea god, couldn’t very well?
“You all better wash up for lunch. I’m going to get everyone seated.” Lauren ran out of the living room, and up the stairs.
The seven of them took turns in the bathroom then walked into the nicely polished dining room. Around the rectangular table were ten wooden chairs at the moment. Lauren sat on the end with two guys next to her: one on the right and one on the left.
On the right was a little boy no older than any of them sitting with his arms crossed. He had blonde hair and a thin narrow face similar to the man’s. Cole was a strange looking man. He had tattoos all over his body and looked like he was about twenty years old.
“Hello, my name is Sage and these are my friends Chelsea, Calvin, Lucy, Charlie, Seth and Genna,” she introduced them.
They all were seated. Sage sat on the end with Chelsea to her right and Charlie to her left. Genna sat next to Chelsea, and Cal took a seat beside Charlie with a pained look on his face. Seth ran over and quickly took the seat beside Ryder, the little boy, and Lucy patted Genna’s shoulder as she sat down beside her.
“Cole is the immortal guard of the safe house. We decided to ask for one after you left, Sage.” Lauren looked down. “We lost many demigods while you guys were away. I stepped up as head of the house and now we are having some demigods working on a way to get monsters off our heels.”
“But I thought this was a safe house? Why are you worried about monsters?” Genna asked.
“We are a safe house because there are so many of us. The gods keep a closer look on us here, but we have little protection. Only Cole and ourselves, and only some of us are good fighters.”
“Where is everyone? Aren’t they coming down for lunch?” Sage looked up the stairs.
“I wanted to confirm some things before Genna meets anyone.” Lauren said, “We had three visitors yesterday. They were looking for Charlie and Lucy. I was just wondering the girl was your sister.” she asked Charlie.
“Whatever you do don’t tell her where I Am.” he implored.
“I will not. So, give me some information on our new demigod.” she smiled at Genna.
“She is a girl of many talents.” Cal said, “A water former, a pink charmer, and a bainiac.”
Sage tried to explain things, “We thought she was the daughter of Athena, and Calvin has a very dogmatic belief that she is a daughter of Aphrodite, and then she makes it harder on us and can form water.”
Lauren looked perceptively at Genna. That look made Genna appreciate her. It told her that there was more to this girl than what was on the outside. Genna heard footsteps coming down the stairs then two girls stood in the doorway of the dining room. One of the girls was the most beautiful girl in the room. She looked like an Egyptian princess with long luscious black hair and chocolate brown eyes. She wore blue shiny jeans and a white tank top with an anti-guns sign on it. The other girl had blonde hair that only reached down to her shoulder. She wore a white dress with butterflies and flowers in her hair.
“Guys, this is Mesi, daughter of Aphrodite, and this is Poppy, daughter of Demeter. They’re a little bit new.” Lauren smiled, but Sage nodded then looked down. “Poppy can you please tell the invisible servants that we’re ready for lunch.” Lauren commanded.
“Invisible servants?” Cal asked. “We didn’t have servants before.”
“My brother, Eros, made them for us,” Mesi’s spellbinding soprano voice made then sway from side to side.
“Mesi try not to speak so high. You’re brain-washing us,” Lauren shook her head trying to clear it.
“Sorry, I’ll go.” Mesi said very quietly then walked out of the room with her head hung low and hands behind her back.
“Sorry about that, Mesi has a persuasive voice like all children of Aphrodite, but hers is more brainwashing than persuading.” Lauren smiled apologetically.
The servants came out with trays of food. They just seemed to be floating in mid-air, but truly carried by invisible men and woman. Ryder and Cole each got steak and Lauren was served a salad. Chelsea also got a salad as well as fruit and ate it quickly while Sage slowly and quietly ate her hamburger and fries. Charlie and Seth both got pasta with marinara sauce while Cal ate nothing, but drank three glasses of coke. Genna looked down at her ambrosia, finally she found something she would eat. When the meal was finished Ryder and Cole disappeared outside and Lauren led them up the staircase.
