Genna looked out the window of the plane and saw her home. Underneath them were the many cities of Greece. Each one had a temple for one of her family members. Athena, for wisdom. Ares, for victory in battle and many more. One day Genna hoped that people would hear of her and build a grand temple in her honor where they would pray for sanity and hope for calm seas. In the distant she could see her home. Not even demigods could see the doors in the mountain.
The plane landed with little turbulence. They were able to leave the plane first and get their bags. The stewardess bowed to Genna then they left. Genna was planning on stealing a car, but she didn’t have to. Apollo was leaning against a wall with the keys to his car in his hands.
“Did you think I was going to leave you at the airport with no ride up the mountain? He smiled charmingly.
“Apollo!” Genna ran to him.. He picked her up in an embrace then set her down gently.
“I have my sun chariot outside. Let’s go party!” he led them out of the airport and into the parking lot. On the top level in the back was an old Greek chariot with dancing flames in the front and on the side door.
“How do people not see it?” Sage asked.
“Mortal can’t. It’s magical,” he climbed in and grabbed the reins. The horses reared at his touch. “Don’t worry. I’ve been driving this thing for years.”
Genna got in first then helped Sage, Chelsea and Lucy up. Alvina, Blaze and Charlie got in last. Apollo whipped the horsed and they sprung forward. It picked up speed as it headed right towards the wall. Chelsea screamed as the chariot lifted into the sky. Higher it went over the mighty city of Athens and into the mountains. They passed white doors, along the mountain side, but they didn’t stop until they reached a platform in front of two giant doors camouflaged into the mountain. Apollo helped them out then walked them to the door. He opened an inside was a big ballroom. Hundreds of gods and demigods came to celebrate the return of Genna.
“Awesome!” Alvina and Lucy ran off together fading into the crowd.
Apollo then walked then over to the refreshment table. They filled up on punch then Apollo disappeared. Hermes went up to them and bowed before Genna.
“I see I’m stuck with Hera as my Queen unfortunately,” he sighed. “She wouldn’t try to kill you now that we are al behind you..”
“Hermes, I am confused by one thing,” Genna spoke.
“What is it?” he filled his glass.
“I thought Gods can kill one another. But then why could Hera not kill me?”
“You were three fourths god and one fourth mortal. When that dagger killed you it killed the one fourth mortality. Although your memory came back that morning you were still one fourth mortal. Now you are full goddess.” He smiled.
“ I don’t want to be a goddess!” Genna stormed into the crowd.
Hermes lingered around Charlie, “So, where’s your sister?”
“Having fun,” he said.
“Good,” Hermes replied. “You need to learn how to have fun.”
“What do you mean?” he asked. “I have fun.”
“Really? Every time I look down on you, you are in a serious debate with yourself. Haven’t you ever just done something without thinking about.”
“Yes…once,” Charlie looked for Genna.
“She sure does bring you happiness. I see it in your eyes. You would kill for her.” Hermes laughed. “And yet you won’t steal for your sister.”
“I’m going to go find Genna,” Charlie left his dad. “And I’m not going to go find mom. I know you want me too, but Cass will be there and I don’t want to die all over again.” Charlie went to find Genna. He travelled through the crowd until he found her in the middle of a group of gods. Zeus, Artemis, Aphrodite, Poseidon, Athena, and Genna were arguing back and forth.
“I am not going to live up here. I wan to go back to Earth!” Genna screamed over the obnoxiously loud music.
“What do you expect us to do about it?” Zeus said annoyed.
“Mother, you must think of something,” Genna whined to Athena.
“Come on Zeus. She wishes to be with Charlie,” Aphrodite begged putting her arms around her father in law.
“We can give her a mortal body.” Poseidon suggested. “It would be hard on her, but if she wants it that bad.”
“I want it!” Genna jumps up and down.
“Really? You do understand that it means no flashing, no water forming, no extra powers. Instead of being three fourths immortal and one fourth mortal you will be three fourths mortal and one fourth immortal. Even less than the demigods.” Athena warned.
“I want to do it. I’ll have forever to be immortal after my life is over,” Genna fidgeted with her ripped jacket.
“Perfect. It will be put into affect tomorrow,” Artemis smiled.
“You’ll feel a little different in the morning,” Apollo added. “But you will always be my Genna and I will miss you every second that you’re gone.”
Artemis hugged Genna, “You can always visit me in Montana.”
Genna told them she had to go to the bathroom. She walked out of the room. She flashed to her old bedroom and strolled around. Her purple floating bed was untouched like the rest of her room.
Hephaestus came in. He wore his old blacksmith overalls and he was full of dirt. “I have a dew things for you.”
He took her hand and they flashed to the other side of the mountain. He walked with a limp over to the door of his blacksmith shop. Genna followed him inside. On the desk was a medium sized chest.
“Aphrodite styled it, but I made the armor.” He gave her the chest. She set it down and opened it. Inside was a pink miniskirt, a white long sleeved shirt and silver chest armor. Also a white belt for a sword, a dagger and a pocket for her earrings.
“Thank you!” Genna hugged her uncle. He looked shocked for a second then placed his hands on her back. She zapped the box back to the safe house. She went back to the party with him. She saw Charlie, Alvina and Hermes goofing around like a regular family, Lucy was talking to her father, and Sage was with Chelsea, her mom, and Poseidon. She walked over to them.
“You guys should go back to the safe house,” Poseidon’s hoarse voice filled Genna’s ears.
“O.k. Do you think Artemis could give us a ride?” Genna asked.
“I believe she would do it for you,” Athena smiled. “I know how you feel about Apollo’s driving.”
Athena got Artemis and they went to get the chariot ready. Genna gathered the others and they headed outside. The chariot was a shiny silver and two white horses were in the front ready to pull. They got in with Artemis and the sliding door shut. Hermes, Aphrodite, Poseidon and Athena stood around the chariot.
“Alvina, please give Athena her necklace back,” Hermes smiled proudly at his daughter.
“But it’s so pretty,” Alvina took it out of her pocket. “ Bye Aunt Athena.”
“Good-bye you seven,” Athena smiled. Artemis whipped the horses before anyone could say anything more. In no time she had them at the safe house. It was late and everyone was asleep. They walked inside and went upstairs. Alvina and Charlie went to the Hermes room, Chelsea sneaked into the Poseidon room, Blaze went to hers, and Sage opened her door.
“Your stuff is in here,” Sage said pointing to Genna’s floating bed and dresser. She was finally out of the uncertain room and in to a room with her half sister, Sage.
