“I’m sorry I stole from the vending machine.” Genna said from behind the bars of the town’s jail, “Can I come out now.”

“You have two options,” the guard looked at Genna coldly, “You can tell me who your parents are and they can pick you up…or you can tell me who picked the key lock and we can do a switch.”

Genna paced inside her small space, “I told you I don’t know who my parents are, and I don’t know the girls name that picked the lock either. She was just helping me.”

The guard laughed and turned around in his chair. Genna gave up and sat down on the cold tile. After an hour of waiting a tall man sauntered in. He had brown curly hair and brown eyes.

“Excuse me, I’m here to pick up Genna, I am her legal guardian.”

The security guard looked him up and down then turned to Genna,   “Do you know this guy?”

“Yes,” she said unsure of the unacquainted man.

“O.K.” the guard got up and unlocked the jail doors. “Now don’t go stealing anymore stuff you here.”

Genna nodded and walked out with the man. She thought for a second, “You’re Hermes, aren’t you?”

“Yes, I am I thought it was only fair for me to bail you out of jail considering that I’m the god of thieves and you’re a little thief aren’t you.” he smiled.

“My brother always said never to trust you,” Genna had no idea where that came from.

Hermes just laughed, “Out of all the things you remember you remember your brother, Apollo. He’s just sore because of that cow-stealing incident. He should be thanking me, after all I did make him the god of music.”

Hermes looked at Genna amazingly, “How do you know about   Apollo?” now he looked scared, “How old are you?”

“I’ll be fourteen in ten days. I was wondering if you could tell me why Hera wants to kill me?” she wondered if her uncle was bipolar.

Hermes stared at Genna, “Has she come to look for you?”

“Yes, she tried to kill me, I deserved to know the truth..” Genna stopped walking.

Hermes gave Genna her backpack back, “I must go. I’m sorry I couldn’t answer your questions.” and just like that Hermes was gone.

In the mean time, Alvina was hungry and Genna had the bag of food. Leaving Sage and Charlie she quickly snuck back to get more. She was completely focused on pick locking the vending machine, so she didn’t even notice the security guard behind her. He grabbed her shoulders startling her. Alvina grabbed the sharp bobby pin from the keyhole. Not looking behind her she struck him in the neck immediately killing him.

When she saw the dead body she started to panic, “Oh my Ares!…Oh my Ares!” her hands putting pressure on her throbbing head while her heart beat rapidly. Alvina, being a very moral person, felt her soul being torn apart.

Then the man began to morph into a fury. Its arms turned into black, dirty, feathery wings. The face turned from normal to ugly fast and scaly claws formed where his feet were.

“Oh!” Alvina sighed her heart beat going back to normal, “Now that’s fine,” she stepped over it and ambled away.

“Wait!” she ran back grabbing a Twix bar she said to herself, “I actually killed something with my bobby pin!” then she went to find Sage.

     “Where were you?” Sage scolded.

“Getting a Twix bar,” Alvina held out apiece, “Want some?” Sage took what was left.

“We have to get Genna.” Sage said through bites of Twix.

 “Where is she?” Alvina frowned.

Sage started walking back to town, “The county jail.”

Alvina grabbed her bobby pin and held it in front of her, “What are you going to do? Stab someone with it.”

“No, I’m going to do their hair,” she said sarcastically.

Sage started to walk back to town again with Charlie and Alvina behind her. Charlie saw a figure running towards them, so he pointed his sword at the shadow. Sage reached and grabbed her dagger and Alvina held out her bobby pin.

“Guys relax. It’s Genna.” Sage said.
