“How do you know all this. When we first met, you barely knew your name,” Sage was angry from the thoughts of Genna dying.

“My memories are coming back. They will be restored on my birthday. My death is just  something that I always knew was going to happen.”

Before they knew it they found themselves driving down the strip. It was the middle of the day, and yet the streets were full of lights. People crowded around hotels and casinos waiting to go gamble their lives away.

“It would be nice to gamble once…you know…care free,” Lucy glanced at all the happy faces, wishing her insides would match.

“Which hotel do you think she meant?” Genna saw about at least twenty different hotels.

“I’m guessing that one,” Sage pointed at a tall white skyscraper with a flashing red sign that read, “The Hotel.”

Lucy drove up into the oval shaped parking lot, and parked in the line of cars for valet. A man working saw the shiny silver Mercedes and ran to assist them. They got out, Alvina tipped the valet, and they strolled into the lobby.

All the furniture was either made of wood or the color of a red juicy apple. The floors were wooden and the walls were a shade of bubble gum pink. Men and woman stood around enjoying complimentary alcoholic beverages and checking in or out.

Sage knew that they would not be able to check into the hotel room without questions on their parents. Alvina would have been a good person to ask, but she needed to do this on her own. She was the daughter of Athena, she must have a plan.  If only she could convince someone to use Artemis’ name for them and get the keys. Maybe bribery would work? Genna was able to keep people listening to her, so maybe she would be able to talk someone into it.

“Genna, do you think you could ask…”

“I see what you mean,” she interrupted than walked over to a woman wit two little girls. She wore a formal dress, like she was going out, with her hair up and the two girls wore matching pink pajamas, “Excuse me, miss.” She turned towards Genna obviously listening, “I was wondering if you could do me a favor. My parents are out gambling and I want to check into my room, but I’m too young. Would you mind checking in for me?”

The mom was contradicted. She wanted to check this girl in, but she was going to be late for her party. She couldn’t believe she was saying this, “I’ll do it for you if you walk my girls up to their room.”

“Thank you so much!” Genna grinned, “ My mom’s name is Artemis,  so that’s the name under the room.”

“Fine, this is Samari and Hail, their room is number 3010 on floor 30.” The woman marched over to the front desk in her stilettoes. After giving the name she came back with the room key. Before leaving she kissed each of the girls on the cheek.

Genna skipped back over to Lucy, Alvina and Sage, “I got the key. All we have to do is drop Samari and Hail off on the thirtieth floor and we’ll be all set.”

They silently got into the shiny gold elevators and stood hastily next to several other people as well as the two girls.

“So, what are you guys doing in Las Vegas?” Lucy asked the older one, Hail.

“I should be asking you the same question,” she gave Lucy the stink eye.

Lucy put her hands on surrender, “I won’t talk to you then!”

The rest of the way was quiet as Genna walked them to their room, and said good-bye. The door slammed shut behind them and Genna could here it lock from the inside. Sage looked at the room key and realized their room was on the twenty-third floor, room 2313. They rode the elevator back down and found their room.  They opened the door, only to find an elegant high-class three-bedroom suite.

“I guess we better start looking,” Lucy exclaimed running in the kitchen, which had a fridge microwave and counter top. She opened the fridge and saw a multitude of nectar and ambrosia.

“Lucy, get out of the kitchen and search the Children’s room,” Sage pointed to the room off the left wall. The room only had two desks and drawers.  She looked through all them, but left the treasure chest alone which she only glanced at.

Genna searched the middle room looking through pink vanities and cabinets. Sage went through the master bedroom with a king size bed and walk in closet. Alvina looked through the things in the living room and kitchen.

They ended the search an hour later with nothing, “Did you look everywhere!” Genna was overwhelmed.

“Yes, even under the sheets of the beds,” Sage said sitting on the couch.

“Not in the toy chest,” Lucy said. Genna went and ran into the room and opened the chest. One little teddy bear that had a pink business card on its belly, “I found it,” She picked the bear up and walked out to the room to where they were all sitting, “It reads Lady to Lady Marriage Chapel. I wonder where that is.”
