Genna woke up the next morning with a serious headache, in fact, her whole body ached. She felt mortal. Her goddess was trapped underneath her skin and she felt like she was suffocating. She got out if bed and went downstairs. For the first time in her life she was hungry for something other then nectar.

Everyone she knew and many more were downstairs sitting in the living room and walking around in the dining room and kitchen.

“Genna! We are having a meeting and Sage wants you to replace her as head of Athena,” Lauren got up out of her chair.

“In the dining room twelve chairs were set up. Lauren sat in a chair at one end of the table that had the trident for Poseidon on it. Flame was in the Aphrodite chair, Poppy sat in the Demeter chair and Genna took a seat beside her in a chair that read Athena in Greek. Seth sat down as well as Charlie for Hermes, Megan’s eldest brother, a girl she’s never seen before as head of Hephaestus, and a boy from the Apollo cabin. Blaze sat away from the table but in the same room.

“We are here to discuss whether we should allow Blaze to stay here,” Lauren said. “Zeus?”

“Seth says yes,” Seth sat at the big chair at the other end of the table.

“Lauren says no for Poseidon,” Lauren says.

“Lucy says heck yes,” Lucy grins at Blaze. “You’re grown on me.”

“Charlie says yes. I know my sister feels the same way,” Charlie side glanced at Genna.

The girl from the Hephaestus cabin spoke next, “Casper says yes. We are more than pleased to have another sister.”

The boy from Apollo said, “Sandino says no.”

Megan’s oldest brother spoke up next, “Kaplan says no.”

Blaze’s heart was raising. She needed two more yeses or she would be kicked out onto the streets again. Genna would say yes, but the Aphrodite and Demeter girls probably wouldn’t.

“Poppy says no. I’m sorry but I must speak for all the Demeter kids and my brother and sisters do not agree with me.”

“May I say something before I vote,” Genna asked.

“Go ahead,” Lauren was sure that no matter what she said Flame would say no.

“I am a minor goddess. My mom is Athena and my dad is Poseidon. I have been like a daughter to Aphrodite and I’ve been a sister to Apollo and Artemis. I have talked to every goddess except Hera. None of them would throw another out. We are all part of the same family. Blaze is my first cousin and wouldn’t throw her out just like my mom wouldn’t throw Apollo or Artemis out. So I say yes for all the gods, for Sage and for myself.”

Everyone stared at Flame. She was the eldest child of Aphrodite, “I agree with Genna. Mi mamá is all about amor so I say yes.”

Lauren’s smile faded away. Blaze smiled shyly at Flame and mouthed thank you. Everyone parted ways then Charlie grabbed Genna’s arm.

“Lucy told me she knows where my mom is. I want to go and get her and bring her here,” Charlie said.

     “Great, who’s going?” Genna asked.

“You, me, Lucy and Alvina,” Charlie started to go upstairs. “Get your things.”

Genna ran up to her room and grabbed her purple backpack. Sage sat on her bed reading a book, “Getting ready to go somewhere?”

“Yes,” Genna opened up the chest Hephaestus gave her.

“Who is going?” she didn’t look up.

“Charlie, me, Lucy and Alvina,” Genna took off her clothes and put them in her dresser.

     “Cool.”

“Why aren’t you coming with?” Genna put on her new skirt and shirt.

Sage put her book down, “I’m going to reclaim my spot as head of the house.”

Genna put her silver chest armor on and buckled her belt, “Oh.” She put her bracelet on and her necklace. “I’ve got to go. See you soon.” Genna grabbed her sword and put it in her belt.

Genna ran downstairs to find Charlie in a light blue shirt and normal jeans just like a normal kid going to go reunite with his mom. She ran up to him and kissed him passionately until Lucy cleared her throat behind them.  She wore a black knee length dress with a grey t-shirt over it that read I walk with the dead her red hair was held back by a black head band. Alvina came down next with her black combat boots, boomerang dagger, jeans, and blue flannel top.

“Let’s go,” she headed out the door.

Genna walked hand in hand with Charlie. Lucy ran up to them, “Where are we going to get a car?”

“I think Gabby Henswer has a car we can borrow,” Genna smiled at the thought of seeing Hana and Gabby.

They slept somewhere in between Tanka and the safe house. They woke up the next morning and Genna actually are the berries they collected.

“I can’t believe you’re back,” Gabby ran and hugged Genna. “You look so cute!”

“Thank you,” Genna beamed. “I’m sorry but we are not here to visit. We need to get to Minnesota, but we do not have a car.”

“Oh! Take my voltwagon bug. It’s another convertible so just promise me to drive safe.” She dug through her bag and took out the keys. “It’s in the garage. I’m sorry but I have to get back to work.”

“Bye!’ Genna hugged her once more and took the keys. “Thank you so much for helping us.”

Gabby Henswer smiled then got into her Mercedes, “Alvina?” she watched Alvina hug her car.

“I miss you Mercedes!” she wouldn’t let go. “I wasn’t lying when I said I was a kleptomaniac.”

“I have to go,” Gabby laughed. Alvina let go and she drove away. Alvina skipped over, snatched the keys from Genna and ran to the garage. Charlie, Lucy, and Genna followed her to the garage. Inside was a white convertible bug. Lucy disappeared then grabbed the keys from Alvina’s hand and got into the front seat.

“Shot gun,” Alvina ran to the other side and got in.

Charlie and Genna were fine with sitting in the back, comfortable and content.

Lucy pulled out of the garage and opened the  gate with the button in the car. They drove onto the highway.

“Will you be able to hold up all night?” Genna asked Lucy.

“Sure I’ll get us their by morning.”

Genna rested her head on Charlie’s shoulder. She smelt his cologne as she closed her eyes.
