💤 JØSH'S PØV🎵
"That was pretty creepy just now, by the way."
"What's creepy?" I asked, following him to the school gates.
"You know when you said you were... There... And I couldn't see you..."
"Oh." I thought about that a while. If I were him, I'd be really scared too.
"I'm sorry 'bout that Tyler"
"It's fine I just..."
"I'm serious, Tyler, I'm really sorry."
And we fell silent. I didn't like it, but like whatever, I needed to get myself across.
It sounded like a bad dream, where people are telling you things that contradict what you're seeing and you feel like your senses are all screwed up. But it's not. You know you're perfectly fine.
I hated how it felt when stuff like that happens, no matter if what you see was real or not, and I didn't want Tyler to feel anything like that. Not the tiniest bit.
I stopped at the bicycle area at the school gate. "Tyler, how do you usually get to school?"
"By bus...why?"
Okay, so I had a few options. Ditch my bike and walk with him, let one of us ride while the other runs along, or share the bike. Mom would kill me if I came home without the bike, so I thought the answer was pretty obvious.
"Can you cycle, Ty?"
"Ummmmm......"
I took that as a no, and that was fine.
"Hop on" I told him, getting onto my bike and patting the seat behind me. He hesitated, but eventually obeyed.
"You're going pretty fast..."
"Hahah, hold on to me then."
His arms were warm. The faster I went, he tighter he held on. I ended up going fast enough to feel the wind in my face and rushing past my ears.
I led him round the bend, turn left, cross the street, turn right, then straight all the way till the end of the road. A twenty minute walk to my house, but I could make it under ten on my bike.
The street I lived on was a quiet place, few cars ever passed by. Trees lined the pavements and the air was fresh.
"Oh, I live nearby, two streets down the main road" Tyler pointed.
I gazed in that direction. "That's really nearby, the street with the playground right?"
"Yeah, you've been there?"
"I cycled around the neighborhood the second day I got here, exploring, because why not right."
His house sounded near, but it was still rather far, not a distance you would care to walk.
Slowing down and stopping in front of my house, we both got off my bike. Tyler was smiling.
"That was cool... I wish I could cycle too."
"Have you ever tried?"
"Once when I was younger, I tried my brother's bicycle and crashed really bad... I got this scar here and didn't try again since then." he said, pointing to a patch on his knee. Ouch.
"I'll teach you one day, with training wheels or something."
"...That'll be nice."
"Yeah, so you can ride while I sit at the back and chill!!"
I'm such a nice person.

I think shorter chapters would be easier. Idk I'm just trying it out
