Chapter 6- When She Cries

Zanes POV

I lay in bed not able to sleep due to the loud noises of fighting.

"You're probably not even working as much as you say you are! You're probably off seeing another girl!" Mom yells.

"Im not! You should know that because you know how to have affairs!" Dad yells back.

"That was years ago! And you know very well that it wasn't intended. I was drunk." Mom snaps.

"Ok well back to the point, i work so hard. Here are your two choices. I work the same hours i have now and you get off my back about it, or you get a job and i cant stop working so many hours. You make it seem as if i want to spend almost all of my waking hours working!" Dad shouts.

I grab my coat, flashlight, and phone and dash out of the window. I cant stand to hear them. I walk down my trail to the tree when i hear the girl from before singing.

Her voice is so beautiful. Its soft and gentle, but it also conveys emotions. The words in the song are so sad. I wonder if she wrote the song....

The girl yawns and closes her eyes. Is she... Asleep? Now im starting to wonder if she even has a house. Well i cant just leave her here. But on the other hand... I cant just take her with me. I could stay and watch over her, but if i fall asleep and she notices me.... There really isnt a good way to handle this situation.

After looking at all of my options, I decided to pick her (surprisingly light) body up and put her behind the tree on a fairly soft pile of leaves. Shes kind of hidden so if anyone comes by, they probably wont see her. Before leaving, i set my flashlight down next to her. Just in case she wakes up when its still dark.

I hope I can here her sing again one day....
