Chapter 26- The Girl

Zanes POV

Aphmau fell back asleep after that. I was so worried. She was so pale, and she looked like she could break at any moment. I held her hand like it was my life line. I couldnt get over what she said.

"Do you know how painful it is, to see you fight for me, cry for me, when we both know i dont have much left to live?"

Did she think she was going to die? No! I would do everything in my power to make sure that didn't happen. I care about her to much. Shes my everything. If she dies I would never be able to live with myself.

"Are you Aphmaus friend?" I turn around at the sound of a deep, ruff voice. Its a man who looks kind of like Aphmau. He has short black hair, and green eyes. She must have gotten her gorgeous eyes from her mom.

"Yes sir." I nod my head and he walks over to a chair and pulls it up to Aphmaus bed on the other side.

"Im her father. Ill be taking her back home soon." Her dad said, not even looking at his daughter.

"What?! U-Um im sorry sir but dont you think its to soon? Youre daughter was just assaulted and she is in horrible condition!" I said, a bit to loudly. He looked over to me with a distasteful look on his face.

"She probably provoked someone. Its her own fault. Whatever, im sure she'll be fine." He rolled his eyes coldly. I mentally gasped. Her dad doesnt care about her at all!

A soft noise was heard from Aphmau. Her eyes opened slowly and rested on me. She smiled. Then her eyes drifted to the other side of her bed. Where her dad was. All of a sudden her eyes filled with fear, the smile gone in an instant as if it had never been there. Why is she afraid of her father? I know hes a *insert choice of words here* but....

"What kind of trouble did you get in now?" Her dad said, frustrated. Aphmau looked down.

"Im sorry." Aphmau whispered meekly. Her dad grabbed her arm, the one i wasnt holding, and Aphmau made a squeak.

"We are leaving here soon, so get ready." He said, staring at Aphmau. She nodded, and her dad walked out of the room, slamming the door on his way out.

"Zane-"

"Aphmau." I said, cutting her off. "What just happened, does your dad hurt you a lot?"

"N-"

"Aphmau! You have to be honest with me!" I yelled, begging her silently.

"...Yes" she answered quietly after a while.

My hand tightened around hers. I was FURIOUS. That *insert choice of words here* was hurting MY Aphmau!

Im going to do everything in my power to make sure no one ever hurts the girl i love again.
