Chapter Eighteen
“This is Brenden,” I said, pointing him out to Ashtyn. “And Brenden, this is my cousin, Ashtyn. You remember her, right?” He nodded and shook her hand, smiling,
“Hey, Brenden. You’ve really grown up since I last saw you.” Ashtyn stepped back to look him up and down.
“You’ve definitely grown up, as well, Ash.” I noticed he was trying hard not to check her out. I patted him on the back and pulled Ashtyn along into the Foxe residence.
“Trev! Come to the kitchen real quick!” I yelled, sitting down in a chair and gesturing for Ash to sit next to me. Trevor came soon enough and his mouth dropped. “Close your mouth, Trev. You’ll catch flies.” He shut it and glared at me. “This is my cousin, Ashtyn. Ashtyn, this is Trevor, Brenden’s brother.”
“Um, hi,” Trevor muttered, staring at Ashtyn. She giggled and blushed.
“Hi,” she muttered in response. They shook hands, each giving the other an intense stare.
“Okay. Well, that was awkward. Let’s move along. You still have to meet Shane,” I said, pulling her away from Trevor.
“I’m coming.” I turned around to see Trevor jingling his keys near my face. “I’ll drive.”
“Fine. Let’s go.” I walked out to where Brenden was waiting and stepped into his arms. “Trevor’s gonna drive.” He moaned. “No worries. You and I can sit in the backseat,” I whispered, letting my lips touch his ear every couple of words. He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the car, behind Ashtyn and Trevor, without giving me a response.
“Hey! No making out back there!” Trevor yelled, looking in the rearview mirror. Brenden and I simultaneously flipped him off and resumed doing just what he told us not to do. “Brenden. Do not make me turn this car around.” We pulled apart.
“Shut up,” I said, sticking my tongue out at Trevor.
“Then stop making out.” He stuck his tongue out back at me.
“Just shut up, both of you,” Ashtyn said, surprising the boys. “Trev, let them make out. They’re both old enough to make their own decisions. But Court, keep it clean back there.” She tried to keep a straight face, but failed. We both laughed and I ruffled her hair a bit from over the seat.
“Well, they can’t make out anymore anyway because we’re at Shane’s house,” Trevor said, pulling into her driveway. I got out with Brenden behind me, smacking my butt.
“Honestly, get a room,” Trevor moaned. I winked at him and he smiled for a second.
“We have a room. It’s just not here right now,” Brenden replied.
“Smooth, Bren, real smooth,” I teased, receiving a small punch on the shoulder. “Shaner, I want you to meet someone,” I called into the house. She came bouncing down the stairs in a skimpy, silky robe.
“Where did you meet th—” she started, but stopped herself when she saw Ashtyn, who—especially wearing practically the same outfit as me—looked almost like my clone. “Oh. A cousin, I’m assuming?” I nodded.
“This is Ashtyn, my mom’s sister’s daughter. Ash, this is Shane, my best friend in the whole world.” They smiled and shook hands, saying typical greetings.
“Listen, I would ask you all to stay,” she said, glancing at Brenden and Trevor. “But, I was kinda bus—”
“Shay, what’s taking so long?” a male voice yelled from upstairs. I looked at Shane, eyebrows raised.
“Yeah, see, I was kinda busy,” she said, turning red.
“Well, who is it?” I asked.
“You don’t wanna know,” she replied. I looked to Brenden. He made a run for the stairs—not that Shane could’ve stopped him anyway.
“No way, dude!” Brenden yelled from upstairs, laughing. When he came back downstairs, he was still laughing, his face turning pink. “It’s Josh! You remember at your party when I told her that he liked her? Man, this is good.” I grabbed his face and gave him a peck on the cheek before whispering in his ear for him to stop laughing.
“Oh, well, sorry to bother you, Shane,” I said, pushing the others out the door. “Have a nice time.” I winked and mouthed ‘text me’ before walking out the door to join the others on their trek to the car.
“Ashtyn’s staying for the whole school year. And until she meets other friends, you and I will probably not have much alone time,” I said to Brenden as we lay in his bed, cuddling.
“What’s she doing now?” he asked, rubbing my arm.
“Unpacking more of her junk. It could take a while; she has a lot of stuff.”
“So, maybe we have a little time for some of this?” He ran his hand under my shirt, pulling it up to expose my flat, tan belly. He moved so he could kiss my stomach, kissing his way up to my neck, and finally my lips. I moaned softly.
“Maybe a little time,” I replied, straddling him.
“I’ll see you tomorrow for dinner, right?” I slid off Brenden’s bed and searched for my clothes.
“Yeah, Trev and I will be over to pick you ladies up around five. Sound good?” I nodded, still looking for my shirt and skirt—just standing in my undies and bra. “Have you seen my clothes?” He shook his head ‘no’.
“Just take one of my shirts and a pair of boxers. When I find them, I’ll get them to you,” he said, getting out of bed himself. I pulled a shirt and pair of boxers out of his dresser and slid them on. The green shirt had been cut open, so my whole torso could be seen from the sides, but oh well. At least I was wearing a cute bra.
“See you tomorrow, babe,” I said, standing up on my tip-toes to kiss him before I left.
