Chapter Nineteen
“Ash! Hurry up! You need to come do my hair!” I yelled from my room. She came bustling in not five minutes later. She gave me a French braid across my hair line, and put mousse in the rest of my hair before putting it up in a big fat ponytail. I did her hair similar and we finished getting around.
“Love your outfit, Court,” Ash said, eyeing me up and down. I was wearing my ‘little black dress’ and black wedge heels. My dress was strapless and barely covered my butt.
“Thanks,” I said, blowing her a kiss. “You aren’t looking so bad yourself, babe.” She looked better than ‘not-so-bad’. She was wearing a tiny white mini skirt and a bright blue tube top, showing off her tanned shoulders. I glanced down at her feet. “What about shoes?”
“Yeah, I was wondering if you had a pair I could borrow?” she asked. “I don’t have any to match that are super cute.” I dug through my closet and found a pair of white peep-toes. “Thanks!”
“Courtney, Ashtyn, your dates are here!” my mom yelled from downstairs. We grabbed our purses and raced down the stairs.
“We’ll be back before eleven, Mom,” I said, walking past her.
“Have a nice time,” she said, smiling at us. Brenden took my arm and I felt like we were going to prom or something, not just out to dinner. He walked us to his car, where he opened the door for me and I slid in the seat, watching as he walked around the front of the car and placed himself in the driver’s seat. Trevor did the same for Ashtyn, with the exception of them getting in the backseat, not into their own car.
“Well, boys, that was a very lovely dinner,” Ashtyn said, catching my eye and smiling with amusement. “Thanks for taking us out.” Trevor kissed her before letting her head into the house, his hands squeezing her waist.
“Thanks, Brenny,” I said, looking into his eyes. “I had a nice time. And Trevor even behaved.” He smiled.
“Yes, yes he did. You’re so beautiful, Lu.” I blushed. He kissed the tip of my nose.
“Will you stay the night with me?” I asked. “We can’t do anything, obviously, but I don’t like missing you.”
“Of course I will, my lady.” He smiled down at me. “I’ll just take my car home and change. I’ll be over soon.” He kissed me again.
“Maybe you should ask Trevor to come?” I asked. “It appears that he and Ash may as well be dating.” He thought about it for a second before agreeing and heading to his car.
“Hey, Ash,” I said, walking into her room. “Wanna sleep in my room with me, Bren, and Trev tonight? We’re gonna watch movies and stuff and just hang out.”
“Yeah, that sounds like fun. Are they here already?”
“They’re in my room, moving some things around and getting some movies out. You can come over whenever you’re ready. There’s a mattress on the floor in there for you, but no pillows or blankets or anything like that, so yeah. See you in a few.” I walked back to my room, where Brenden and Trevor were fighting over which movie to watch. I rolled my eyes.
I pulled the DVDs from their hands and tossed them on my bed, pulling Brenden up off the floor. I put my hands in his back pockets and kissed him deeply.
“If you’re gonna be doing that all night, maybe I should go back to my room.” Ash said, smiling to let me know she was just joking.
“You’re telling me!” Trevor proclaimed, grabbing Ashtyn’s hand. She blushed a little and sat on the bed, putting one of the movies into my laptop and pulling Trevor down beside her.
“Alright, movie time!” Brenden said, pushing play on my laptop after the two of us joined the others on my bed.
