*14th of September-16*
I walked off the plane, Max by my side.
"I still can't believe I'm being sent home for eight months, ugh" I groaned and Max just whined. "I know bud you'll have time to relax" I said patting his head. I grabbed my bag of the conveyor belt and walked around trying to find my brother and sister. I felt Max nudge my leg.
"What's wrong bud?" I asked. He started walking away, I followed.
"SKY" I heard somone yell. Brooke came through the crowd and wrapped me in a hug.
"Ahh" I winced "hi"
"Sorry" my sister said letting go.
"It's ok, my arm just still hurts" I said. She smiled and AJ walked over.
"Hey sky" he said and gave me a careful hug.
"Hey AJ" I said hugging him back.
"So who's this?" Brooke asked squatting down to pat Max, who stepped back.
"It's ok, Max she's a friendly" I said. Max looked at me and I nodded. He placed his snout in her hand and she pet him.
"Ready to go?" AJ asked.
"Uh yeah" I said and he grabbed my duffel bag. We went to AJ's car and got in. Max jumped in the back with me and we went home.
"Find my room bud" I said and he started sniffing around before going upstairs. He continued sniffing, then he sat in front of my door.
"Good boy" I patted his head and he licked my hand. I opened the door, it was like I never left. I walked in, dropped my bag to the ground and flopped down on my bed. I took a deep breath.
"I think it's missed you almost as much as you've missed it" I propped myself up on my elbows to see Brooke. I laughed.
"Ahhh I've missed this place" I said.
"I can tell" she said and sat on my computer chair. Max jumped up on the bed.
"So what have I missed since I've been gone?" I asked.
"You remember that guy Nate?"
"Yes?"
"Well.......... we're engaged" she said and showed me her finger.
"Holy fuck look at the size of that thing I would never be able to wear that" I said, she smiled.
"Our wedding is in three months time"
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"You were on deployment" she said sadly.
"Well I guess you paid the wall enough to hurt me to the point I'd be sent home, so that worked out hey" I said playfully hitting her with my non cast arm.
"So I've already booked us a table at this lovely restaurant downtown tomorrow night. It's going to be fantastic you, me and Nate it's going to be great" she said. I smiled at her enthusiasm.
"How fancy?" I asked.
"5 star"
"Oh damn I don't have anything to wear to bad" I said sarcastically.
"It's ok you can borrow something of mine or you might have something left in you wardrobe" she said.
"Got anything that will match my cast" I laughed holding it up.
"No but can I sign it?" She asked. I laughed.
"Sure there's some textas behind you" I laid down and let her do her thing.
"And done" she said, I looked at it 'rebel angel' and an angel wing on either side.
"Rebel angel?" I asked.
"Oh it's my YouTube name that's what I do as a job" she said.
"So you upload videos and get paid for it?" I asked.
"Yeah"
"Well I suppose it's safer then getting shot at" I said with a laugh.
"Just a-"
"PIZZAS HERE" AJ called.
"Dinner" we both said and we went down stairs, sat at the table and dug in. I put a piece down on the floor and Max gobbled it all up. After that I went to go take a shower, then got changed and headed to bed.
