After some car karaoke we arrived. Everyone was waiting. We got out and walked over
"Ok what happened to 6?" Mark asked
"AJ's fault" Brooke and I said in sync before we high fived.
"Yes yes it's my fault. let's go inside before they cancel our table" AJ said with a laugh and we went inside.
"Hey, I just need to go to the toilet quickly" I said to Brooke before walking to the back of the restaurant and using the bathroom. I walked back to the table to see the only one seat left not surprising next to Matt and Brooke, I sat down
"I ordered you the roast chicken" Brooke said.
"Yeah that's cool" I said and took a drink of the water in front of me. "so what's the whole deal with Five Nights At Freddy's?" I asked. Matt groaned placing his head in his hands and everyone laughed.
"what?" I asked.
"Ok so Matt is part of The Game Theorists so he figures out the background stories, lore and stuff. So anyway there's a big lore behind the game and it's been a long road and-" Nate began to explain.
"To sum it up its been hell" Matt said making me laugh. He smiled.
"So what's it all about?"
"You know what, you can just play the games and figure it out" Mark said. I rolled my eyes.
"Can I get a rough idea?" I asked and food was placed In front of us.
"Ok so you're a security guard at a pizzeria and animatronics are trying to kill you" AJ said.
"Oh, sounds fun?" I said although it sounded more like a question. Everyone laughed.
"It has a better story line than actual gameplay" Matt said.
"You tell that to all the fnaf clone games" Mark said.
"It's a new game mechanic" Matt said.
"Ok it's got a great storyline and great gameplay ok" Brooke intervened.
"Can't argue with that" Nate said and we ate. All indulging in little conversations with the people beside us.
"Enjoying your dinner?" Matt asked.
"It's good but I mean it's no KFC or anything" I said with a laugh. He smiled.
"I'll have to take you out again" he said.
"It's that a promise?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"If you want it to be" I smiled.
"I'd like that" I said. We had our dessert before we left. I headed outside whist the others paid for their meals. I looked up at the stars it was a clear night.
"Hey" I jumped as Matt spoke. "sorry didn't mean to scare you"
"No no it's fine" I said and the wind picked up. I rubbed my arms.
"You cold?" Matt asked.
"I'll be fine it's just the wind" I said and I felt warmth over my shoulders. I realised he had put his jacket on my shoulders.
"I know it doesn't go with your outfit but it's better than being cold" he said. I smiled.
"Yeah" I said.
"You look beautiful tonight you know" he said.
"Thanks" I said and Mark walked out.
"It was nice meeting you today but I gotta head home" Mark said and gave me a hug.
"You too Mark see ya" and he left. Leaving Mat and I alone once again. Suddenly Matt pulled me into him and I heard the ding of a bicycle bell. I then realised he was just pulling me out of the way.
"Sorry I-"
"No it's fine thanks" I said pulling away. The rest of the gang walked out.
"You ready to go?" Brooke asked.
"Yeah" I said and went to take Matt's jacket off.
"I can pick it up another day" he said pulling it back around me. I smiled.
"Thanks Matthew" I said.
"Come on I'll walk you to your car" he said and we walked over to AJ's car.
"Are you sure about the jacket?" I asked.
"100%" he said and opened the door. I gave him a hug which he almost immediately returned. He gave a small squeeze before letting go.
"I'll text you later" he said with a wink. Making me giggle.
"Bye Matthew"
"Bye Skylar" he closed the door once I got in. I waved as we left.
"So what was all that huh?" Brooke asked a smirk plastered on her face. She looked at me through the mirror on the back of the visor.
"We were saying bye Jeeze" I said she just rolled her eyes and flipped up the visor. I lent against the window. Soon we got home and I went and had a shower before going to my room. I put my dirty clothes in the hamper and placed Matthew's jacket on the back of my computer chair. Then got into bed before drifting off to sleep.
