"This is more like it" I said looking at the new outfit I had on.

"I guess that's fine" Brooke pouted.

"Oh it's fine relax" I laughed.  We heard a honk outside.

"And just in time" Brooke said. Brooke and I went down stairs.

"So if you end up going to his place just let me know" AJ said with a wink.

"Seriously?! You're my brother your supposed to be-"

"Your 24 years old if you were like 16 I would" he said.

"NOW GO!" They both shouted.

"Ok ok I'm going" I said as there was a knock at the door. I opened the door to see Matt.

"You ready to go?" He asked handing me a bouquet of flowers. I gave them a sniff.

"Yeah I'm ready to go and thank you these are beautiful" I said.

"I'll take these" Brooke said and took the flowers. "You two go have fun"

"Ok" we walked to Matt's car and he opened the front passenger door. I smiled, got in and we headed off.

"Ok so what I did have planned was a picnic, but the weather disagreed so, we're just going to go back to my place" he said.

"That's fine" I said. On the way to his house it started raining.
"Cancelling the picnic was a good idea" I laughed.
"It was" Matt said. I watched the rain as the droplets races down the window.  We soon pulled into a driveway.

"Your kidding me" Matt muttered.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"The weather is interfering with the garage door" he said.

"Oh ok" I said. Matt got out before opening my door. I climbed out and we ran to the front door.

"Come on come on" Matt said trying to open the door. I laughed at his attempts. He got the door open and we went inside.

"Calling off the picnic was definitely a good idea" I laughed moving away the hair that was sticking to my face.

"I am so sorry" he said taking off his jacket and hanging it on a coat rack by the door.

"It's fine" I said.

"No it's not you got all dressed up and-"

"Matthew it's fine I promise" I said placing my hands on his shoulders. Matt looked at me and smiled.
"So it's not the worst date ever already?" He asked.
"No" I smiled. I felt some water dripping down the side of me face. Before I could get to it Matt wiped it away with his thumb. He rested his hand on my cheek. The feeling in my stomach was passed a knot.

"Sorry, sorry" a female voice came from down the hall.  I stepped back away from Matt. "Jason's car broke down on his way here in a taxi" a girl said walking over. "what happened to you guy's?"

"It's raining outside and the garage door isn't working" Matt said.

"Oh right I'll call an electrician tomorrow" she said.

"Skylar this is my room mate and best friend Steph" Matt said.

"Hi nice to meet you" I said and we shook hands.

"Same to you. Did you uh maybe want to borrow some dry clothes?" She asked with a small laugh.

"Are you sure?"

"Of course I'm not going to make you sit in wet clothes" she grabbed my hand and began pulling me away. I looked back just in time to see Matt smile.

"So you and Matt huh?" Steph said rummaging through her stuff as I stood awkwardly in the corner.

"Not really" I said looking around. She looked at me and rose an eyebrow.

"Well I tell you something, Matt is head over heels for you" she said handing me a shirt pair of track pants and slippers.

"Thanks, but what do you mean?"

"Thanks, but what do you mean?"

"Matt won't stop talking about you even when he says he'll stop in 5 minutes he's talking about you again"

"Oh ok" I said.

"There's a bathroom across the hall" Steph said. I nodded and went and changed out of my wet clothes. I walked back down stairs.

(I love Steph so I wasn't going to make her the evil ex people tend to make the significant other to be in fanfics)
