*28th September 2016*
I woke up and it was bright outside. I sat up rubbing my eyes. I looked at my phone it was 10 in the afternoon.
"Jeeze talk about sleeping in" I said to myself. Then I realised Max was nowhere to be seen. Getting up I walked down stairs to see Brooke playing with Max outside.
"Look who's finally awake" I turned to see AJ.
"Haha your so funny" I said. Then went into the kitchen and made some toast. I walked outside, toast in hand and sat on the garden chair.
"Finally wake up?" Brooke asked and threw Max's ball.
"I don't know how I slept so long" I said.
"Yeah, usually your just getting back from your run with Max. I was surprised when he was still here when I woke up"
"Hey this came for you" AJ said and handed me an envelope.
"Thanks" I said and ripped it open. I looked at who sent it. 34th squad. My squad.
Dear Sergeant P.
Hey serg, was just writing to see how you were recovering? I hope you and Max are doing well. I can't say what's been going on, but you know I can't, sorry. But I've been put in charge of the squad and Jax is in my old spot. So how are things going back home? I tell ya what I wouldn't mind a sleep in. I'm sure your enjoying the peace. I hope you are. Can't wait for you to get back. We have a new guy Luraxe. but we've kept him to Snips you can probably guess why. Anyway I'm gonna cut it there.

From Squad 34
"What's that?" Brooke asked.
"It's just a letter from the guys back out field" I said.
"Oh ok" she said. And Max ran over jumping on me.
"Haha hey buddy" I said. He began sniffing the paper before sitting and placing his paw on the paper.
"What's he doing?" Brooke asked.
"He recognises the scent" I said.
"Oh ok well I need to go record some videos"
"Ok I'll try not to break your lock this time"
"Haha thanks" and with that she got up and left.
"What do you wanna do bud?" I asked and Max placed his head on the paper. "I'll write back soon"
I served up the spaghetti into the bowls and put some of the sauce and meat into Max's kibble. I placed it on the floor. Then took the bowls over to the table.
"Mmm what smells so good?" Brooke asked walking in.
"Dinner" I said.
"Ok I'll go get AJ" she said and went upstairs. I got some forks and placed them on the table. AJ and Brooke walked in and we all sat down.
"Hope it tastes as good as it smells" AJ said.
"It should" I replied. And they both laughed. We dug in to our dinner.
"Got any plans for tomorrow?" I asked.
"Yes actually we're going to the beach" Brooke said.
"As in we, who do you mean?" I asked
"Oh you, me, Nate and Matt" Brooke said I laughed,
"Ok Cupid" I said and continued eating.
"Oh and Max of course"
