I opened my eyes and saw blood on my hands; I panicked as soon as everything was like a film that was fastly rewinded in my mind. I looked around and saw that Ezra is helping the police grab the knocked out goons on the ground. There were some who were chasing men who tried to escape. Gaspard is giving his statement; Cassandra's talking to Martin as they escort the media outside the gates. Lisa--where's Lisa? I turned around and she was calling out to the medics that were running towards us. I can't hear anything, is Lehi okay? Someone's shaking me, I looked to my right and saw Lehi trying to talk to me--or yelling at me. I can't hear a word he's saying, so I tried to make out the words that his lips are forming. Then little by little my ears started functioning again; as his words became clearer, all I can think of is my relief since Lehi's alive.
"Olivia, stop moving, you're shot!" he pressed his hand on my side and I realized that my blood was all over the place--well, just about 1 foot around me. He looked at his mother who was in a hurry to come to my aid.
"I'm fine, Lehi, this is nothing" I shook my head.
"No, it ain't fine O." he tsked "I'll come with her to the hospital." he told the medic as they assist me. He brushed off one of the attendants who tried to check on him telling him that they can check on him on the ambulance with me. Ezra approached as we were about to ride the ambulance.
"Olivia, I'll just help them scan the perimeter here, and then I'll follow you to the hospital. I have a friend there, she'll take care of you." he squeezed my hand, signaling that the "friend" he mentioned knows about us. I nodded and touched his hand in return before letting him go. Lehi nodded at him then followed me inside the ambulance. As soon as he's seated, one of the medics started to attend to his wounds and bruises. He just stared at me with worry evident on his expression. I smiled at him as I try to delay the reconstruction of my tissues--I don't want them to see my body spitting out the bullet. It took us about an hour before we were delivered to the emergency room where Ezra's "friend" spoke to me and told the others that she'll take care of me. Lehi was hesitant with letting me go with this stranger but I told him that I'll be fine, so he let me go.
Ezra met us at the hallway where he talked to his "friend" about me. She brought us to a surgery room where they entranced the other nurses and doctors. Ezra helped me clean up the blood on my body after I stopped preventing my body to heal. "You have to put on some bandage for show, and then we'll tell them that you'll just have to rest at home." Ezra said, looking at me then at his friend. She nodded at Ezra and grabbed some bandage and wrapped a part of my torso with it, while Ezra hands my clothes.
I went to one of the restrooms to change to jeans, shirt and hoodie. After everything was set, I thanked Ezra's friend and left her to find Lehi and his mother. Ezra told me that Gaspard stayed at home to talk to the security team he hired, and Lisa came with him to the hospital to check on his son. I asked him about Cassandra but he didn't answer my question. Lisa looked surprised she saw me walking towards her--shoot! We forgot to at least get a wheel chair. "It was just a deep graze that the bullet gave me. I just have to rest at home. How's Lehi?" that changed her worried expression.
"He's good; I'm just waiting for him to get changed."
"I'm sorry for the dress, I liked it."
"It's okay, I won't be looking for that dress any time soon--with all the trouble tonight." she shook her head.
"Will you be okay?" I asked her.
"I'll be fine, thank you though, for protecting me and my son," she hugged me tightly "I don't know how to thank you."
"Just always be wary of your surroundings, especially if you're not at home." I hugged her back.
"Thank you Olivia, I hope to see you again." she let go of me "I'll call you if I'll have mental breakdowns." Lisa winked at me and I smiled.
