Friday

Lehi got attached with the view out back after I gave him his last tour of the house. He said that it was awesome that we don't have to drive to get to go to the beach since we have our own beach at the back. I wanted to snap at him when he used the term "we", but I wasn't able to. It seemed that I liked the term; it made me feel that somehow, I wasn't alone anymore. Yes, Ezra is very capable of keeping me company whenever he's free but with Lehi, it feels a little different--awkward but nice. And as days pass by, there's something that makes me forget that I should resent him, and that scares me a lot. He's a mortal and a man, I shouldn't like him.

"Are you okay?" Lehi interrupted my deep thoughts.

"Y-yeah, I'm good." I muttered.

"You know, you should smile more. You're really, really beautiful, what more if you smile?" I'm feeling my cheeks warm up again, so I looked outside once more.

"Know what, Lehi? Don't. Don't expect me to smile. I never smile, and I'll never smile. Emotions are worthless and unimportant." I glared at him.

"Whoa, okay. I guess I'll shut up now." Lehi pouted.

I felt a little guilty for snapping at Lehi for making me blush, but I can't risk him seeing me blush. I don't want him to tease me and wink at me; I might have some kind of attack. I can't even send an email to one of my business partners without thinking about his clear gray eyes, strong high cheekbones and jaw line, full lips—whoa! I should really stop this stupid daydreaming of mine. It's not natural! This is not me! I hit send as soon as I snap out of my daydream to end my agony with the damn email.

The phone's been ringing for 5 times now, I instructed Scarlet to answer the phone after just 1 ring--so why is the freaking phone still ringing? I walked out my office to see if Scarlet's still alive. As soon as she saw my brown eyes glaring at her, Scarlet answered the phone. While I was glaring at her, I saw Lehi standing beside her. So she's so busy flirting with him again to answer the phone.

"Ms. Rogers, I need to talk to you." I told Scarlet as I enter my office. "Scarlet, why was it that it took 5 almost 6 rings before you took the call?" I gave her one of my Yes-you're-in-big-trouble-if-you-don't-change glare.

"I-I-I was talking to Mr. Fontaine about-"

"That's not an excuse for not answering a call immediately. One of your top priorities is the phone calls that are directed to the phone at your desk. Those are very important calls; do I have to remind you about that Ms. Rogers?" I cut her off, still glaring at her.

"I'm so sorry Ms. Snow, it will never ever happen again."

"It better not. And one last thing, just to reiterate it, I don't tolerate PDA, so avoid it--it's unprofessional." I dismissed her. "And tell Mr. Fontaine to come in here after you go back to your desk."

"Yes ma'am." she said as she closed the door.

It took about 3 minutes before Lehi went in.

"Is there a problem, Ms. Snow?"

"Yes, there is. Will you stop involving my secretary when you slack off? She's starting to slack off and I don't like it when my employees slack off. If you like flirting around with your girlfriend then does it outside the office—it’s unprofessional."

"First off, I'm not slacking, I never slack off. There aren't any projects that require my great talent all the time since I always do my job earlier than everyone. The team has a lot of photos to use until the next 3 months. And second, Scarlet's not my girlfriend--she's an old friend of mine." he explained.
