Deja Vu

My phone keeps on ringing. What now?

"Olivia Snow." I answered. "Olivia, you have to go home as soon as possible." it's my aunt Alaura's voice. What could be the reason why? They know that I just closed a deal for one of my companies, and that I needed to have a short break.

"It's your father--Marie died 3 days ago." Oh please, don't let my father do anything stupid. "Okay, I'll fly back to Florida as soon as I finish taking a shower. I'll call you when I land." I just hope I'll get there in time, I feel something's gonna happen and it will not be good.

As soon as I land, I called aunt Alaura to tell her that I just went out of the airport. She sounds like my father's about to have a heart attack. I got in the car and told my driver to take me to my father's house. I don't know if I really should show up after all these years. So what if his wife died 3 days ago? I can care less. She's the reason why my father left my mom. He fell in love with a mere mortal, and left us a night before my 21st birthday. I was going to be a fully matured Immortali, I needed him but all he did was leave. He's selfish and pathetic to fall in love with a mortal. The thought of it fills me with disgust. It's been ages since my mom died. He never even thought about visiting me.

"Olivia," aunt Alaura hugged me once she opened the door. "What're you doing here?" I asked her wondering as to why she's here--right, she's my father's sister.

"We've been trying to comfort him but all he did was mope. The university has been calling him because he's been absent for a week and the students are missing him. They also keep on bugging Amador about his whereabouts. "Oh…so where's my father?" I need to get going. I'll just check on him and leave.  "He's in their room." she gave me a weak smile.

I felt foreign in this house. The atmosphere was strange and there are a lot of photos on the wall. They never had a kid which comforted me a little, since I won't have to worry about a half sibling. I was about to knock on the door when uncle Amador--aunt Alaura's husband--opened the door.

"Olivia! Oh my god, you're all grown up. You look beautiful and very professional." he gave me his biggest smile showing his pearly white teeth. "All grown up? Uncle, I'm 89 years old so I'm really all grown up." I gave him a little smile. "Yeah, but we're all stuck on 21 so we all still look gorgeous! Anyway, your dad's outside the room-at their balcony."

I slowly approached my father, I could almost swear that there was a familiar glow that's surrounding him but I can't really can tell since it's really sunny. He stopped his mumbling and smiled at me. "You look all grown up. You look just like your mother." This feels somewhat familiar. “I heard she died. I'm not surprised since she's just a mortal." I smirked. "That mortal was my wife." he almost snapped at me. "That mortal you call wife is the reason why you left mom the night before my birthday! You're selfish and pathetic!" I snapped. He looked guilty and sad. "I'm sorry Olivia. Keep this for me." he handed me his ring, the onyx was faintly glowing.

"Quod Ego Sic Fiat Erit!" he boldly said as I took the ring from his hand. I looked at him and history repeated itself at that moment. What happened to my mom happened to him. Aunt Alaura and uncle Amador opened the door, panic reflecting on their faces. They quickly understood what happened when they saw his ring on my hand.
