I've been doing the final interview for employees who wanted to work for my company for various positions and departments for as long as I can remember. It's not that I don't do a lot of things in the office--trust me; I have a lot in my plate. You could just imagine since Snow Publishing is just one of my many companies. Well, going back, the reason that I like doing the final interview is because I want to make sure that I would know a little bit about the person that we're going to hire. Yes, I have a Human Resources Dept. with their Recruitment team on each company to do this job, but on this certain company where I always am, they let me do it. It's not like they could do something about it anyways.
It's been two weeks since I fired that asshole of a photographer but I still can't find someone to replace him. A lot of the applicants just piss me off—so full of themselves, asking for higher pay rates when all that they can show me are crappy photographs. They can't even make the building outside look interesting when I ask them to take a picture of it. I really need a good photographer right now.
I was about to send an email to one of my secretaries for confirmation from that one patient I've been working on for a year now when Scarlet-my secretary knocked on my door. "Ms. Snow, the last interviewee for today's ready for you." she smiled as she played with the tips of blonde hair. "Okay, send him in then." I straightened up in my seat as I glanced over the last resume on my desk.
I was playing with my pen when the last interviewee entered my office. "Take a seat." I politely offered the seat in front of my desk. "Thank you." his deep voice muttered. "So, Lehi Fontaine, let's make this interview fast for you." I cleared my throat a little. "Why would you want to be a photographer?" I asked as I lift my head up to see how he answers the question. It was really surprising since he looks like he should be applying to model for us than be a photographer. In his resume it was stated that he's 5'11 that's why he looks taller than me even if he's sitting. He has dark brown hair that was a little messed up--which looks hot anyway--wait, hot? Did I just say that in my mind? He also has these clear gray eyes--wait, clear, gray eyes--he's looking at me. Actually looking straight to my eyes. I must tell Ezra about this, he'd freak out. I didn't even realize that he's finished talking 'til he raised one of his strong eyebrows at me. Good thing that I know how to keep my face blank so he won't know that I was studying his facial features. "Well, that's good to hear from a fresh graduate. So Lehi, I need you to do something for me. See that building outside, take a picture of it." I handed him the camera on my desk but he's not taking it, instead he raised an eyebrow at me again.
"I don't think that it's necessary for me to do that." he said.
"Well, it is necessary and it isn't a request. I have to see how good you are." I pointed out.
"Isn't it necessary enough that I-"
"Will you just do it already?! I have other appointments to attend to. If you're not willing to do such simple commands then how can I expect you to work properly among your co-workers who'll be higher than you? I don't need hard-headed people in my company." I snapped at him.
"Your company?" he must be kidding to even say that.
"Yes. My company, take a second look at my desk."
"Sorry, it's just that I'm not used to working for a girl." he took the camera from my hand.
"Well, that's about to change if I choose to hire you." I said as I took the camera back once he was finished taking a picture.
"Sorry." he muttered.
"Well, that would be all Mr. Fontaine. You'll receive a call from us within 24 hours to let you know if we’ll hire you or not." I dismissed him while looking at the screen of the camera to study his shot. I didn't bother to look at him as he left my office. He managed to take a picture of one of the building's windows where there was a meeting going on and it seems to be going great. I knew by then that I found the photographer that I was looking for.
When I got out of my office, I handed some files to Scarlet telling her to file some of the papers that we need to keep and to shred the resumes of the applicants that I will never hire pointing to one resume telling her that she knows what to do. She looked pleased when she looked at Lehi's resume. I was studying her face when I noticed someone looking at us--it was him. I assume they know each other since they both smiled when Scarlet gave a look. Well, I don't mind so I took off. I drove straight to the hospital for my other role in the community--being a psychologist.
It was almost 11 in the evening when I got home. I didn't sleep so that I won't dream about my mother's death instead I called Ezra over and told him everything that happened. He brought ice cream since that's one of his ways to celebrate "my eyes no longer being a virgin from human eyes". He's crazy sometimes but I still adore him.
